There are many games that offer you the experience of owning a house, a car, and even a small area where you can farm, build relationships with NPCs, and whatnot. But have the idea of owning an entire planet come to your mind? If yes, then Farlands is the game worth trying. Released as an early access title, in the game, you start as the owner of an agrarian rock and build it from scratch. From clearing paths to reclaiming fields that are victims of the passage of time, your journey isn’t going to be easy. But you won’t be alone in the game. With the help of your assistant, Droid, and a usable spaceship, exploring your planets along with other planets in the solar system will be a thrilling experience. Steam Deck

As of now, Farlands is not listed as Playable or Verified for the Steam Deck. Considering that the game has just been released, it’s no surprise that Valve hasn’t tested it out yet. Regardless of the game’s official compatibility confirmation details, we have some good news. The developers, JanduSoft, shared on the game’s Steam discussion forum that Farlands is indeed playable on the Steam Deck. Player reports also confirm the same, but some players are encountering crashing issues which should be fixed after a restart. However, considering that the game isn’t Verified for the Deck, there are other issues too. Here’s what the developers stated:

  •  On the character/farm name screen there is no virtual keyboard at the moment, and you should open steam virtual keyboard to setup a name (only happens on the first 5 minutes of gameplay)
  • Virtual cursor is showing/hidding from time to time. Doesn’t affect gameplay.

Apart from these issues, there is also the issue of controller input. Since the game offers partial controller support, you will have to manually map a few controls to better suit the gameplay. Apart from these, the game’s performance on the Deck is acceptable and you should give it a try. Here’s a gameplay video of Farlands running on the Deck:

Asus Rog Ally and Lenovo Legion Go

Since both these handhelds are Windows-based mini-PCs, they can run almost every game that is available on a PC. That said, in the case of Farlands, this remains true. You can enjoy Farlands on your Asus Rog Ally and Lenovo Legion Go without any issues. However, due to the lack of full controller support in the game, there might be controller-related issues that you have to deal with.

With that said, now you know all about the Steam Deck, Asus Rog Ally, and Lenovo Legion Go support details of Farlands. If you find this article informative, consider visiting Android Gram for more such interesting content on all things gaming.
