Google Podcasts is a trusted source for many users to enjoy listening to podcasts. A service completely dedicated to podcasts has to be flawless. Or that’s what we thought. There have been a few problems with Google Podcasts. But nothing that bothered users as much as the sync issue on Google Podcasts. Users have always been going through issues with Google Podcasts not syncing across devices.

When your information for a particular service is synced between your devices, you don’t have to worry about having to reset or keep track of anything. A good example for that would be your progress for a particular podcast. If you are done listening to some part of a podcast, a sync should register this information on all of your devices. But for a long time now, Google Podcasts users have been prevented from successfully using this feature. Let’s see what can be done about it.

Google recommends users to simply sign into their Google account on every device they would like to sync. But this hasn’t been working for most users who enjoy content on Google Podcasts. First, let’s go through the troubleshooting steps suggested by Google to refresh the page. Users can open the Google Podcasts app and swipe down on the screen. This will refresh the page and bring up new podcasts on the screen. But this is just for the podcasts on the home screen. You can do the same for the list of podcasts you have saved.

The next thing you are supposed to check is your internet connection. For Google Podcasts to sync successfully across all your devices, it is necessary to be connected to a stable internet connection. Try opening other apps on your device. If your internet service is affected, the majority of the apps on your device should be prevented from loading smoothly. Contact your ISP to get your internet connection fixed in case of such issues.

You can also try clearing the cache files for the Google Podcasts app on your device. Tap and hold the app icon on your device. Select “App info” and then tap on the “Clear cache” option. After that check if Google Podcasts is syncing across your devices.

If these steps suggested by Google do not help you fix the syncing problem on Google Podcasts, contact support by clicking here.
