Remove the channel:

Remove the HGTV channel from your Roku device temporarily. On the Roku Home screen, select the HGTV channel tile. Now, press the * button on your remote to access more options. Select “Remove channel” from that list of options and then restart your Roku. To restart the device, go to Settings > System > System restart. After the Roku device restarts, search for the HGTV channel and add it back.

Logout of your account:

This is a troubleshooting step suggested on the Roku community thread. This has worked for some users, but it may or may not work for you. But it’s worth a try nevertheless. Log out of your HGTV GO account on your Roku device. Now restart your device and then sign into your account again. Check if the problem bothering you is fixed.

Check if the service is down:

Search your browser for “HGTV GO server status”. Click on the first link and read through the reviews and the server status report. A lot of negative reviews in the past hour usually mean that the website is currently down. All you have to do in this situation is wait. After some time, the problem will definitely fix itself.

Restart device:

Restarting the device is a basic troubleshooting method that works for almost all problems. Turn off your Roku device and turn it on again. If the normal restart using your remote does not work, try a hard reset. Directly unplug the power cable for your Roku device from the wall outlet. Now, wait for about thirty seconds. Plug the power cable back and turn on the device. This should fix the problems with HGTV GO on Roku.

Check for updates:

Go to device settings and check if the Roku device you are using can be updated. Outdated firmware can often be the reason for such problems. Update the firmware to the latest version and check if HGTV GO is fixed.

Report the issue:

If the troubleshooting steps given above did not work, reporting the problem is the best course of action. Contact Roku support and find the professional help that you need.
