Xfinity TV is all-in-one access to entertainment for anyone who decides to use it. With Xfinity TV users can use a bunch of different video streaming services and manage their accounts with ease. The main reason for having a service like Xfinity TV is to make access to different types of content easy. But easy access brings its drawbacks. A streaming device in a household is used by the entire family. An average family will include kids and youngsters who can be easily manipulated by questionable content online. And with YouTube in the picture, having some filters becomes very important.
The main theme of YouTube is that anyone can create and upload videos on the platform. This gives rise to many controversial characters that can have a negative influence on a young mind. This has to be avoided at all costs. Hence, this post will guide you through the steps on how to block Youtube on Xfinity TV.

Steps to block Youtube on Xfinity TV:
Users with X1 device:
Access the parental controls specific to the X1 device to block YouTube on Xfinity. Press the Xfinity button on your remote. Scroll to Settings > OK > Down arrow > Parental Controls > OK. Select the Parental Pin option and set the pin you want. Confirm the pin and exit the setting. After this, you can go back to browsing the device or the app. You can prevent any unwanted access by having control with the pin you have set.
To set up a lock for YouTube on the X1 device, follow these steps – Press the Xfinity button on the remote and use the navigation buttons to select the gear icon to go to Settings. Now go to Parental control > Parental control Pin > Application Locks. Select YouTube from the list of apps to lock it. After that, every time a user tries to open YouTube on your X1 device, they will be asked for the Pin you set. Of course, giving away the pin will automatically give away the authority you have over the device and Xfinity TV.
Apart from this setting in the X1 device, there is nothing you can use to prevent your child or a user to open and use YouTube. Some users are bothered by the fact that Xfinity devices don’t allow apps to be removed from the home screen. But that is a discussion for some other day.
Users without an X1 device:
The steps that are mentioned above can be used for Xfinity TV services as well. Doesn’t matter if you are using a different device. You can set up parental protocols and “block” YouTube on Xfinity TV. As a precautionary step, I would suggest that you look into ways to filter the content on YouTube to make it kids friendly. Occasionally filtering the content on there will prevent your children from watching content you don’t want them to.
