How to invite & play multiplayer with friends in Dying Light 2?
To unlock and start playing the co-op mode in Dying Light 2, you need to complete and play through all of the prologue. This means that you first need to complete the story quests: Pilgrim’s Path, Getting Stronger, and Markers of Plague. Only after that will you be able to unlock the co-op multiplayer mode. Next, it goes without saying that to access online multiplayer, you need to have access to the internet. Then you need to on the main menu or the pause menu. Once there, you will see the ‘Online Menu’ option. Simply click it and you will be presented with 3 options. Favorites, Friends, and Online Options.

The ‘Online Options’ has four different sets of options- Game Type, Call of Help: Search & Rescue, Voice chat, and Voice Chat Volume.
From the ‘Game Type’ option, you can choose who can connect with you online. You have several options of Single Player, Friends Only, Private and Public. Now the Call of help: Search & Rescue option gives you the choice to set it from time to time, Regularly or never. It will add you to sessions with other players with similar options. Voice chat and Voice Chat volume can be used to chat with other players when playing online.
You will also see the option to register yourself to Epic Games if you are using Steam. You will need to register yourself if you want to add friends who use Epic Launcher to Play Dying Light 2. Once you do that, you will have the option to add friends from the Epic Launcher. The same process is applicable for peeps using Epic Launcher who want to add friends from Steam. After you do that, you will be able to find your friends in the ‘FRIENDS’ option. To invite them, you simply need to go to the FRIENDS option and there you will be able to see all your friends and which ones are online and available to be invited. You can also add them to ‘Favorites’ to help you find the friends you play with regularly more easily.
An important thing to be noted is that the game does not allow cross-platform [yet] so you can only add and play along with friends who are on the same platform as you.
