Lego 2K Drive is a Lego-based racing game that was released earlier in May 2023, to mixed reviews. The game is set in BrickLandia and features a destructible environment, as in most Lego games. It is played from a third-person perspective, and players have the option to customize their vehicle. Arguably, racing games are more fun when played against other humans instead of AI. Even more so if those humans are people you know. So, Lego 2K Drive offers multiplayer modes for both co-op and PvP gameplay. It also has the option for a 2-player split screen mode. However, many players have reported that they cannot get the 2-player split screen mode to work in Lego 2K Drive. This is obviously very frustrating. Imagine you invited someone over to your house and fired up Lego 2K Drive, only to find the split screen does not work. What does one do in such a situation? Well, keep reading this guide until the end to find out if a fix exists for this issue.
Lego 2k Drive split screen not working: How to fix it?
We have compiled and listed a couple of workarounds for you to try out below to fix this issue.
Press start on the second controller –
According to solcal84, 2K support suggested this solution to them. To fix the issue, head to the main menu of Lego 2K Drive without launching any game mode. Ensure both controllers are connected properly to your console. On the Player 2 controller, press the start button. You should now be able to see the second player join the game for Local Play. After this, simply choose the game mode you want and race away!
Make sure the second controller is working –
If the issue still persists after trying the solution suggested above, make sure that the second controller is working properly. You can try launching another game with split-screen multiplayer support to check if both controllers work.
Sign in the second controller as a guest –
After you connect a secondary controller to your console, make sure to sign it in as a guest. This workaround fixed the issue for No-Possibility9494, so give it a try. If the issue persists, you can try signing the secondary controller to a different account and trying again.
Make sure you are logged in –
You also need to make sure that you are logged in to your 2K account when trying to play the game. Vezzlan88 shared that they weren’t, and logging in after power-cycling their console fixed the issue.
Restart the game and console-
solcal84 also suggested reloading the game by restarting your console. Sometimes the issue is just with the instance of the game you are running, so restarting the game should fix it. For fett899, it took a couple of restarts, so be patient. You can also power cycle your console to get rid of any cache files that may be causing the issue.
Do a clean re-install –
It is possible that your installation might have a glitch, so try doing a complete uninstall and re-install of the game if nothing else works. After this, the issue should no longer persist.
Well, those were some of the workarounds we think might help you fix the split screen not working issue in Lego 2K Drive. If none of the above workarounds helped, try contacting support.
