Lenovo Legion Go not booting up: How to fix it?

Lenovo Legion Go is a Steam Deck competitor that has a unique set of features and abilities that make it very different and comparable to other handheld devices. While on paper, it is a much stronger and faster machine, it is limited by its form factor and the types of games it can support. While, in theory, it is a superior machine, the Steam Deck is usually a much better choice because of Valve’s direct compatibility and the developer support they offer. Despite this, the Legion Go is a beast of a machine that can run most games. It is a very powerful handheld that can really push some games to their limits and offer smooth, frame-lock-free performance. There are some issues with it, though. The most common one seems to be the ‘not booting up’ issue.

While your PC not booting up is a common issue that can be solved with some hardware knowledge, the same is not true for the Legion Go. Being a handheld device, it is far more sensitive to changes and damages than the PC can traditionally overcome. That being said, if your Legion Go is not booting up, we recommend taking it to a service center to have it professionally checked out. However, if that’s not a possibility, continue reading.

The Legion Go is a handheld. This comes with some inherently handheld device problems. The first and most notable issue with handhelds is their software support. Since Windows was not intended to be used in such a form factor, the OS often bugs out and has issues while running on handhelds. This can easily be solved with some software tinkering and know-how. It tends to be a whole other issue when the system refuses to boot, however.

How to fix it?

The Legion Go not booting is a serious issue. This is because you can’t make any changes; you can’t even get the system to start up. Without the system being booted up, it cannot respond to any inputs and is effectively bricked. Well, if you are encountering a similar issue, here are some methods you can try:

1). Hard Restarting

You can do this by holding down the power button for 10 seconds or more. This will force the system to reset. This usually fixes the issue but in the rare chance it does not, try the other solutions listed here.

2). Press the Power and Legion buttons

Pressing the Power and the Legion buttons together is a solution that has worked for a lot of players. If you want to make any progress in fixing this issue, you should try this method. So, what you need to do is press and hold both the Legion buttons on the handheld and the Power button for some time. This should enable the Lenovo Legion Go to boot up.

3). Hold the Volume Down and Power button

This is another method to reset the device. If you do this for about 10 seconds, the device will be forced to restart. Since this does reset some features of the device (no data is known to be lost), issues with the software are ironed out. This is a handy method to use in such cases.

4). Charge the Device

Another common reason for the device not booting up is that it is out of charge. Try connecting it to the power outlet and trying the above workarounds again.

5). Reach out to support

Since the device is not booting at all, you might want to reach out to support. Make sure to explain the problem to them and hopefully, they will provide you with a solution.

Well, now you know how to get your Legion Go to boot up if it doesn’t. If you found this guide informative and would like to read more, make sure to visit Android Gram daily.
