After almost 4 years of updates in Early Access, Len’s Island’s full release is available to all the players. The v1.0 version was released on 19 June 2025, developed by Flow Studio, and published by both Flow Studio itself and Fireshine Games. This highly anticipated open-world survival crafting game pulls you into a world filled with the thrill of dungeon crawling and ARPG combat, seamlessly intertwining peaceful farming and creative building. Players can explore the world at their own pace as a solo explorer or together with friends in up to 8-player online co-op.
However, the excitement for this full launch isn’t quite the same for controller players, as they are put through this frustrating issue where they are unable to play the game on their PCs using controllers. This problem is especially upsetting for many players because Len’s Island’s store page used to say it had “partial controller support.” But when the 1.0 update came out, they took that claim off. The developers said they didn’t think the controller support was “good enough” to be advertised. This made many players feel let down and tricked, and some even asked for their money back since they bought the game expecting controllers to work reliably. The game is free to play until June 23rd, so we highly recommend trying it out to see if you’re comfortable with the current state of controller gameplay before making a purchase. Anyway, if you are struggling to get your controller to work in-game, here are a bunch of workarounds worth trying.

Len’s Island Controller Not Working on PC Issue: Is there any fix yet
Notably, a game developer recently addressed this issue on Steam, stating, “You can play the game with a controller. In fact, we made improvements to it, so it should be much better than in early access. The functionality is there, though, and if you are having issues, please send us a bug report. We’ll look into it immediately.”
So it would be best to give the game another try and see if it is now better optimized for it. If you are still facing issues, try this workaround:
Disable Steam Input for Len’s Island
This is one of the most frequently reported solutions for the controller issue. The game’s controller support can be sensitive to Steam’s own input handling. Thus, a Steam user suggested disabling Steam Input. To disable Steam Input
- Open your Steam Library.
- Right-click on Len’s Island and select “Properties.”
- Go to the “Controller” tab.
- From the dropdown menu for “Override for Len’s Island,” select “Disable Steam Input.”
- After this, launch the game.
Players using a DualSense (PS5) controller mentioned that they are able to play the game from their end, mainly by utilizing Steam Input. However, even when your controller is working, the overall experience might not be seamless. Many players find they still need a mouse and keyboard handy for starting the game or navigating certain menus. Also, the analog stick is often required to function as a mouse proxy in various in-game instances, which is far from ideal for a truly native controller experience.
Until an official, fully optimized solution arrives, patiently trying the workaround can help you get your controller working.
