LightYear Frontier seems to have had an interesting launch so far. The early access title is very popular on Steam, as it is being played by a considerable number of players. The concepts this game takes on and builds upon make it very unique and fun to play. However, there are a few glaring issues with the game that a lot of players are complaining about. From the multiplayer not working to how to set this game up for the Steam Deck, there seems to be a large number of questions the developers are yet to address. To add to this list is the issue that, apparently, the game does not save your progress. So, if you too are encountering the same, here’s everything you need to know regarding the same.
The game not saving progress means starting over from scratch every single time you launch it. This can be a grind that some players enjoy but a lot of players are going to hate the idea of starting over again. In some games, this is an actual feature but it was not intended to be this way in Lightyear Frontier. The game is supposed to save your data and restore you to the point of your save when you start it. This is an issue that has caused a lot of players to lose a lot of progress. Well, is there a fix for it? Continue reading to find out.
Lightyear Frontier Game Not Saving Progress: Is there any fix yet?
The main issue seems to be that the game simply does not save any data. This could be due to a variety of reasons. It could be that the game is bugged and has backend issues. Regardless, it is an issue that needs to be sorted out as soon as possible. Without any saved files, it will be a constant grind from level 1 back to where you were. A lot of players have already lost a lot of progress and have had to start the game over.
What to do?
Unfortunately, there isn’t a straightforward solution to this issue. The developers have responded that there is indeed an issue with the save system in Lightyear Frontier. They have begun working on it and will hopefully release a patch. With regard to a solution, there is none other than a workaround suggested by the developer. Since the game does not even create a save file, there is nothing to fix or repair. It will simply register the game as ‘no-played’ internally and you will need to restart from scratch.
The only proposed solution to this issue thus far is that you do not click on the save option before selecting the save and quit option when exiting the game. Another workaround shared by a player is to uninstall the game entirely, delete the save folder called FarMech, and reinstall. Once that’s done, check if the issue persists.
That is all we have on whether there is a fix for the Lightyear Frontier not saving progress issue. If you find this guide helpful and want to read more such content, make sure to visit Android Gram daily.
