Limbus Company Crashing on Steam Deck: How to Fix?
Unfortunately for Deck users, there has been no update from ProjectMoon on this issue. However, even without an official fix, you’re not completely doomed. We have listed a few workarounds here that you can try and use to see if the issue persists in the game.
Restart Steam Deck
Whenever players encounter any issue with any game on Steam Deck, the first and easiest workaround is to try and restart your device. For this, you’ll need to press and hold the Power button for around 10 seconds to force restart your Deck. Sometimes, the force restart doesn’t actually power the device back on. In that case, you’ll need to press and hold the Power button again until your Steam Deck turns back on. Then, launch Limbus Company and see if the issue persists.
Verify Game Files
- Go to your Steam library and highlight Limbus Company.
- Press the three-dot button and go to Properties.
- Open the Installed Files tab.
- Now, select the “Verify integrity of game files” option and let the process complete.
- Run the game and see if your issue is fixed.
Use Proton GE or Proton Experimental
- Once again, follow the first two steps of the previous workaround to open the game’s Properties menu.
- Go to the Compatibility tab and select the “Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool” option.
- Now select Proton GE from the options and run the game. See if the issue persists.
- If Limbus Company is still crashing on your Steam Deck, then you can try and use Proton Experimental as the compatibility layer and see if that works for you.
Use Steam Linux Runtime
You can also try and use Steam Linux Runtime as your compatibility layer if the game continues to crash. The steps are similar to the previous workaround, except that instead of choosing Proton GE or Proton Experimental, you have to choose Steam Linux Runtime. Try and see if that works for you.
Update SteamOS
- Press the Steam button on your Steam Deck and go to Settings.
- Open the Systems tab.
- Tap on “Check for Updates“. This will show you if you have any pending SteamOS updates. If you do, then select Apply to download and install the update.
- Restart Steam Deck, run the game, and see if the issue persists.
Update the Game
- Go to your Steam library and highlight Limbus Company.
- Tap on the game to open it. On this page, you’ll find if there are any pending updates that you need to install. However, if you don’t see that option, then tap on the cog wheel button.
- Select Manage from the drop-down menu.
- Now, click on “Check for Updates” and see if there are any pending updates.
- If yes, then follow the on-screen instructions to download and install the update.
- Run Limbus Company again, and see if the game still crashes.
Well, these are all of the workarounds that we currently have for you. If we get any more details on this matter, we will make sure to update this article accordingly. Until then, if you found this guide helpful, then keep visiting Android Gram for more such gaming content!
