How’s your competitive climb turning out to be? Are you getting good teammates? The matchmaking system in Marvel Rivals is fairly accurate when it comes to putting together players of similar skill in a single lobby. The game is balanced with most heroes in the meta but since you are here, you must have noticed that the characters you play in the game are getting banned frequently during the ban phase of a competitive match. Yes, there are tracking websites available that players can use to get details on the stats of other players and ban their highest win-rate characters. To avoid getting target banned, you can try this hide name feature in the game. But do you know how? If not, this is just the guide you need.
In Marvel Rivals, you can limit the access of your profile, which means that other players can’t see your match history, stats, ranks, etc. But if that’s way too much for you, and you still want to not get target banned, the hide name feature in the game is what you should be looking for. This feature only works in the game’s competitive mode. When turned on, your in-game name will be converted into “*****” during the hero ban phase and while after the match starts. By doing this, the stats related to your account can’t be read by the players on the other team. So, how to enable it?

Marvel Rivals: How to Hide Name? (PC/Console)
To hide your name in Marvel Rivals in the competitive game mode, first, open the game and head over to the Settings menu. Here, select the Social tab and then scroll down to the very bottom until you find the Hide Own Name (Competitive) option. Simply set the toggle to On and you are good to go. Now, your name will be hidden from the enemy team in a competitive match.
Hide Name feature not working?
If you have enabled this feature and still your in-game name is visible in a competitive match, that means your rank is below Gold III. Only players on or above Gold III are eligible to use this. And, since there is no ban system below this rank, hiding name doesn’t make any sense.
Note: This feature only works in the game’s competitive mode. In every other mode, your name will be visible.
