That’s precisely what makes Minecraft stand out above the current competition. Well, facts aside, creating has always been a fun moment, but what if your hard-earned world suddenly stops working? There are people or even communities that build their own custom world, but there’s a chance that even the finest one can stop working just for a simple line of error. That said, in this guide, we have shared details on how to recover deleted worlds in Minecraft. So, consider reading until the end.

Minecraft: How to recover deleted worlds

How to recover deleted worlds in Minecraft

Recovering a Minecraft world can be a bit tricky. On consoles (PS), you just have to navigate through a bunch of options, but on a PC, the names and locations of the exact files may vary. But still, we will try our best to cover the basics of the steps. The same method works on both consoles and PCs; however, the process itself is a bit different. Let us show you how:

PC/Desktop

Windows saves deleted files and folders in the trash can, as you might already know. That also acts as a backup. Let’s say Minecraft detected a corrupted file in your world, and the client simply overwrote everything. That way, the corrupted file wouldn’t be able to affect any other part of your system if it turned out to be malware or some deadly virus. Anyway, coming back to the topic, to recover a deleted world in Minecraft, just follow these simple steps:

  • Close and exit the Minecraft official client.
  • Next, press the Windows and R keys together. A run prompt will appear.
  • Now, type “%appdata%” inside the Run box and hit enter.
  • The Windows File Explorer will open. Now, simply follow the path inside this directory: AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\saves, and wait.
  • Right-click on an empty space, and a window will appear.
  • Press on Properties, which will most likely be the last option.
  • Now, go to the Previous Versions tab and restore the old saves folder.
  • After restoring, open Minecraft, and the deleted worlds should be visible now.

PlayStation

The reason for your worlds getting deleted in Minecraft is pretty much the same in the case of PlayStation consoles. But in this case, the backups are stored in your cloud, saving you from the hassle. So, to restore the vanished worlds, follow this:

  • Press the PlayStation button on your controller and go back to the home screen.
  • Simply enter the settings by clicking the gear icon at the top.
  • Now, open Saved Data and Game/App Settings. This very option may differ in the future or in an older software version. But the alias should be familiar.
  • If you are on PS5, then open the Cloud Storage from Saved Data (PS5) option. For PS4 users, dive right into the first Cloud Storage option in the Saved Data (PS4) option.
  • After selecting this option, let the cloud storage sync; it takes somewhere between a minute and two, depending on your internet connection.
  • After loading, select the pencil icon beside Minecraft.
  • Now, you can see all your previously used or created worlds. Simply check the ones that need to be restored.
  • After selecting, press OK and hit the Download button on the lower-right side of your screen.
  • If you get a prompt to overwrite save, make sure to click Yes. After this, confirm your selection.
  • Now, the restoration will begin. Reopen Minecraft after the process.

So now you know how to restore deleted worlds in Minecraft. We hope this guide provided you with all the information you needed. For more such interesting guides, make sure to visit Android Gram daily.
