Every fortnight we used to publish updates on our site about Xiaomi’s MIUI 12 distribution schedule. Mostly Note 8 users had to return disappointed . For a long time Xiaomi were unclear on when exactly they would pour in the update. However, as was tweeted by fellow tech enthusiast Abhishek Yadav on twitter (@yabhishekhd) MIUI 12 has arrived for Redmi Note 8. Earlier, the Note 8 devices did get the developer’s beta version of MIUI 12 but that was restricted to China. At the time of launch Redmi Note 8 ran on Android 9 and MIUI 10. It is impressive on Xiaomi’s part to offer MIUI 12 based on Android 10.
However, there are a few things for you to keep in mind. This will very much be the stable-beta version. This means if you aren’t enrolled in Mi’s Pilot beta testing program, then hard luck. Only after receiving positive feedback from the Mi beta testing program will the stable release be distributed OTA. The MIUI 12 update also brings with itself October 2020 Security Patch.
