Did you get bored of chopping down wood? Why not spice things up? My time at Sandrock has many dangerous areas where it’s all about high risk and high rewards. These places hold precious ores that can be mined for something valuable. The more expensive the item, the harder it will be to find its ingredients. For example, petrified wood is relatively difficult to find. Anyway, in this guide, you will learn about granite and exactly how to mine it.
Granite is a raw material that can be sold for 3 Gols each. Well, the main issue isn’t the availability of this ore; instead, it’s the place where it appears. This area is filled with toxic gas that will do 50 continuous damage per second if you stay in it. If you have progressed much in the game and reached level 80 or 100, then it won’t matter much. But for beginners, it’s a real hell. So, let’s see how to tackle these issues and mine at the same time.
My Time at Sandrock Granite: How to Get & Find
Granite in My Time at Sandrock can be found in the Valley of Whispers. And as we said, it’s filled with green-colored toxic fog, which deals continuous damage over time. However, there are two ways to solve this big problem.
Get rid of Green Fog/Get Protective Gear
The game has two dedicated main quests. Those are
- Clear the Air
- The Missing Leak
Completing the first quest will permanently get rid of the green fog. While the second one will grant you a protective suit. When wearing it, you are immune to this green fog’s damage. These two are the main quests, so eventually you will have to complete them. So, based on your preference, complete any of the quests, or both, and head over to the Valley of Whispers, located in the eastern area of Sandrock.
Protective Suit
If you are wondering about the resources needed to craft the protective suit, then here’s the list:
- Canvas x5
- Plastic Shell x4
- Fiber Mesh x3
- Tempered Glass x2
It takes 3 hours and 30 minutes to craft just one suit, and each suit can be sold for 347 Gols. Sell it or keep it; it’s your choice. Just make sure that you have at least one in your inventory.
Get Iron Pickhammer
To mine Granite, you will need the Iron Pickhammer. If you have completed the Missing Leak questline, then you already have an Iron Pickhammer. But if you sold it or somehow lost it, then make it again using these items:
- Steel Bar x5
- Hardwood Stick x2
- Sharpening Stone x2
Start Mining!
Now that you have everything, just head to the Valley of Whispers and look for rocks that look golden. Go near it and make sure that it shows Granite as its name. Equip your iron pickhammer and start hitting it. With enough hits, you will be able to mine quite a bunch of granite.
