NVIDIA is the leading company for next-gen GPU hardware as well as new gaming-related technologies. Recently, Nvidia turned into a trillion-dollar company (valuation), and the momentum doesn’t seem to die down anytime soon. Well, the new DLSS 3.5 was released in September 2023 for selected games, which is why many are interested in knowing how to get it. Most of the features of DLSS 3.0 (except DLAA and Super Resolution) were exclusive to a few GPUs in the past, and 3.5 tries to address just that. So which GPUs support Nvidia DLSS 3.5, and how can you get it? Read this guide for more details.
DLSS stands for Deep Learning Super Sampling. Deep learning directly refers to none other than a type of AI. Yes, DLSS 3.5 uses AI to upscale the gaming assets to enhance the overall visual appeal of a game while also boosting a good amount of FPS. Getting excited already?
NVIDIA DLSS 3.5 features & download link: Here’s how you can get it
NVIDIA always tries its hardest when it comes to delivering the best to its loyal gamers. While the competition currently is quite high due to AMD’s FSR 3.0, Nvidia’s take on the scaling technology still has an edge on the GPUs it supports. DLSS 3.5 was officially released recently, and you can even get its SDK for development purposes. To download it, click on the given links:
Supported GPUs
As we know, DLSS 3.0 has some great features, but full support for all its features was limited to selected GPUs only. Thankfully, DLSS 3.5 supports Ray Reconstruction, Super Resolution, and DLAA on all GPUs, including the following:
- Nvidia GeForce RTX 20 series
- Nvidia GeForce RTX 30 series
- Nvidia GeForce RTX 40 series
However, Frame Generation is only supported by RTX 40 series GPUs.
Ray Reconstruction
This is the only big highlight that players are looking forward to from DLSS 3.5. This feature essentially uses the power of AI and the god-like computing power of the Nvidia GPUs to produce a close-to-natural environment. It mainly focuses on these things:
- Lighting
- Reflections
- Shadows
On the other hand, it reconstructs the pixel right before it hits your display, resulting in a natural lighting condition that just doesn’t look gloomy. The latest update of Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty already comes with this DLSS 3.5 support. There are only a handful of games that utilize ray reconstruction in their games, and Cyberpunk 2077 is one of them.
Can you use Ray Reconstruction?
Yes, you can, but remember that this uses a heck of a lot of power. So even if technically it’s available on all possible Nvidia GPUs, the RTX 40-series GPUs can only make good use of it. They are made with the best hardware, which can handle the immense load of this feature. So even if you use it on, let’s say, an RTX 20 series GPU, the overall quality won’t be too good.
