Since Palia started inviting more players to its open beta test servers, players have been wondering how most of the game mechanics work. For some, it may remind them of an old classic called Sims City. But as you start playing it, you will soon realize the mechanics are far more complicated in Palia. For example, in fishing, you can only catch regular fish with no bait. But if you need to catch some really rare fish, you will need to use bait. So, what bait can you use? That’s where the worms come in. So how can you find these worms in Palia, and how good of bait are they? Consider reading this guide until the end for all the details.
Worms are multipurpose land dwellers that can be used in many ways. For example, there is a chance that some worms may produce fertilizer. Then this will help you with your next or even current harvest. Apart from that, with the help of Glow Worms, you can do much more fishing than most players have been doing until now. So here’s how you can get worms in Palia.
Palia Worms: How to get & find
Mostly, you’ll have two options. Either buy the worms directly or farm them. In the case of farming, you will get more benefits. As for straight-up buying them, you can visit Zeki’s General Store to buy worms for 10 Gold each. This purchase will be unlocked after you have received your first worms via mail from Einar. This was easy. But what we will recommend is that you farm them. Here’s how it goes:
The Recipe
Just like any other activity, Worm Farming can be bought as a recipe from Einar’s Fishing Guild Store. So just head over to Fisherman’s Lagoon and buy the Worm Farm for 500 gold from Einar (Level 4 of Fishing is required to unlock this recipe). We know you could’ve bought 50 worms with 500 gold, but believe us, this investment will reward you with much higher returns. So after buying this recipe, you need to gather some materials. All of them are listed below.
- Sapwood Plank x12
- Stone Brick x8
- Copper Bar x4
- Leather x4
These are some hefty materials, and they require fine processing at sawmills and smelters. You must gather them, and once everything is said and done, start crafting your Worm farm in your plot area. Buy some foods that the worms can eat and place them on the farm. Within an hour, worms will start populating the plot.
How do you use a Worm?
Either by buying or growing, you will be able to get plenty of worms in your pocket. So after getting them, simply head to your nearest water source deep enough for fishing. Now, open the equipment wheel, equip your fishing rod, and right-click to select the worms as bait.
Fishing is just one side of the story. While simply buying them won’t accomplish much, growing them on a Farm will give you more opportunities to use them. Also, you can bring your leftover foods inside the farm and watch as they turn into organic fertilizer. There is no limit on what kind of food you can give, so it’s a win-win anyway.
