In the past few years, many survival games have been released. Additionally, some of these games follow a non-conventional game style and storyline. Titles like Minecraft, Valheim, Subnautica, and Rust are among the most popular titles. Now, imagine the same survival mechanics but with Pokemon-like characters in it. Well, this epitome of survival games is experienced in the newly released game, Palworld. Because of its integration of pokemon-like creatures called Pals and many exciting features, the game is making it to the popularity charts. However, following the usual trend of new releases, Palworld isn’t a perfect game. Anyway, if you are playing the game and are not quite satisfied with the default FOV, consider reading this guide regarding how to change it.
Palworld, developed by Pocket Pair, is an action-packed adventure survival game. It is set in an open-world landscape where players befriend, collect, and battle mysterious creatures called Pals. So, players have to build a life together as they explore, craft, farm, and fight in a world filled with surprises. Further, there are over 100 unique pals, each with their own abilities and personalities. Now, exploring and fighting alongside pals can be quite monotonous if the in-game FOV is too low to accommodate all the happenings on your screen. Likewise, the default FOV in-game is considerably low, even for a game that features a third-person perspective. So, is there a way to change the FOV? Is there an in-game option in Settings? Continue reading to find out.
Palworld: How to change FOV?
FOV or Field of Vision, is the window that shows you a slice of the world in the game on your screen. Now, in Palworld, the default FOV might feel a bit restrictive, as if you’re peeking through a keyhole into this vibrant world, missing out on the grand panorama it offers. Well, there are two ways to change FOV in-game. One is via the in-game Settings menu, and the other is by accessing the game’s files and editing them.
Via In-game Settings (Limit: 70-90)
To change FOV in Palworld, first head over to the Pause/Main menu and select the Settings option. After this, select the Graphics tab, where you will find the Field of View option under the Camera section. Here, you can adjust the FOV from 70 to 90 only. But if that’s not quite enough for you, follow the next method.
Change FOV Manually (No Limit)
Although Palworld allows you to change FOV via the in-game Settings menu, the value is limited to 70-90. So, if you want a wider FOV, you will need to take a rather technical route. So, first, install a hex editor like HxD. After this, follow the steps below:
- Start by opening File Explorer, searching %appdata% in the address bar, and pressing Enter.
- Now, navigate to Local>Pal>Saved>SavedGames.
- Here, enter the folders with unique IDs until you get access to the game’s files. Now, find the “Useroption.sav” file and open it using the hex editor.
- Now, in the byte range 691-694, locate the Field of View values. (It comes after FOV Float Property).
- Now, set your desired FOV, taking 75 as the base value. (If you want FOV to be 80, then set the value to +5. Similarly, if you want 120, then set the value to +45).
- Once done, save the changes and launch the game.
Changing the FOV can give you an upper hand during the battles and the usual walkthrough. Now, you can react quicker to the ambushes, keeping yourself and your pals safe from harm. Well, this is how you can change the FOV in Palworld. We hope that this guide helped you. That being said, for more such guides and updates, visit Android Gram daily.
