Pikmin 4 is the latest installment of the Pikmin series. This Nintendo-exclusive game lets you control a legion of tiny plant-like creatures called Pikmin. While controlling them, you have to explore the world and take on adventures and challenges. The game has fans excited about the graphical improvements and the various QoL changes implemented by the developers. In the game, you have to fight your way through multiple world bosses and enemies. You will have to fight them as a team and will need the help of the Pikmin to defeat them. Of these multiple bosses, one of the funniest and most distinctive is Porquillion. In this article, we are going to go over how to defeat this boss in Pikmin 4.
Pikmin 4 Porquillion Boss Guide: How to Beat It?
This boss is an easy one to beat. Most of its attacks are time and distance-based and can be avoided easily. So, once you learn how to dodge them, it is simply a matter of dealing enough damage to defeat the boss. Here are the detailed steps to beating the Porquillion in the game:
- Oatchi
- Red Pikmin: These are recommended since they have the highest damage output of any Pikmin and will be very useful in dealing with this boss.
- Ice Pikmin: These Pikmin are recommended because they clump together and freeze enemies. If you freeze this boss using the Ice Pikmin’s abilities, you can deal additional damage to it and defeat it sooner with lower chances of failure.
Once you have the basics sorted, let’s take a look at how to beat this boss;
1). Avoid all 4 Spike launches
When you approach this boss, it will launch its spikes at you four times in succession. You can easily dodge them by running around while riding Oatchi.
2). Rush the boss as soon as it is out of spikes
Carry more than 10 Ice Pikmin for optimal results. Once the boss has launched all its spikes at you, it will run out of spikes for a little while. At this time, you can rush the boss and send more than 10 Ice Pikmin to freeze it. Once frozen, send all the Red Pikmin you have with you to deal the most damage.
3). Repeat
The Porquillion will try to regrow the spikes after a while. It will shake its body to give you a visual cue that the spikes are regenerating. At this time, dodge the incoming spiked projectiles and repeat the steps mentioned above.
With time and patience, you will have dealt enough damage to the boss to result in its defeat. That said, if you found this article informative and would like to read more like it, make sure to visit Android Gram.
