Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl: How to walk with Pokemon
Well, if you are thinking that you can get your pokemon to walk with you right from the start of the game, then you are going to be disappointed as this is not the case here. To be able to walk with your pokemon, players will need to access Amity Square in Hearthome City which can only be unlocked after defeating the second gym leader(Gardenia) in the game.
Once you have reached Hearthome City, head towards the left, past the Poke mart and then the Poke center. You will come across the Amity Square West Gate. Interact with it and head towards the building. Once you have entered the building, you will come across a room with a tunnel. Head towards the tunnel and you will be able to access Amity Square on the other side.
In Amity Square, talk to the character on your left and she will suggest you to choose a pokemon to walk with you. Usually, you are allowed to take a starter pokemon only. But, once you have completed strolling with your pokemon, interact with her again. After the conversation is over, head back towards the Amity Square West Gate and you will find the starter pokemon waiting for you. Now, you can also change the pokemon you want to walk with. Just select the pokemon of your choice from the Menu.
