Loadouts are an important part of shooter games, and Ready or Not isn’t an exception to that rule. Although it may not be a very hardcore FPS, Ready or Not will require you to be tactical when handling targets or civilians. The game is heavily based on realism; according to the developers, they had a long chat with real police forces before putting their ideas into action. So, don’t be surprised if the game is extraordinary hard to crack at times. Ready or Not is actually inspired by the Rovio Entertainment’s OG title “SWAT 4”. According to an NME review, it is almost a remake of the 2004 classic. And as far as the loadout is concerned, there are a lot of guns to choose from in the game! But what is the best loadout for Ready or Not? We will be answering that question for you in this article.
What is the best loadout for Ready or Not?
Let’s first talk about how the game wants players to go about a task. As mentioned before, it follows rules of reality; you will not be able to fire until the target becomes hostile. That’s a basic rule for real police or SWAT teams out there. To support this notion, the game allows you to select from a wide range of tactical devices, grenades, and more, over the guns! As part of the loadout, you will be allowed to carry two guns (primary and secondary), a lot of grenades, and two tactical devices. Now, talking about the best loadout in the game, we all know that it boils down to one’s choices and playstyle. You may want to carry a high recoil gun for its effective range or other benefits. However, you will need to understand its recoil pattern and add attachments that help reduce it. On the other hand, some will always choose M4A1 because of its low recoil and high manageability.
Ready or Not lets you choose a primary gun from a range of assault rifles, shotguns, and sub-machine guns. Some are non-lethal; you would want to discuss everyone’s role in the team with your buddies. Roles play an important part in deciding your loadout. So, here’s what we think is the best loadout suggestion for any average Ready or Not player:
Primary Gun: M4A1
Optics: Holosight
Muzzle: Socom Suppressor (no noise)
Underbarrel:: Combat Grip
Overbarrel: Laser Pointer
Ammunition: PMAG +5
Secondary Gun: 57 USG [with a laser pointer for accuracy and bullet speed, and a suppressor]
Long Tactical: Mirror Gun [this actually depends on the type of role you are assuming]
Gear: Heavy Armor [gives you extra HP, but reduces your speed]
Headgear: NVGS or Ballistic Facemask
How to choose your own loadout in Ready or Not?
All attachments mentioned above are just a suggestion. We recommend trying out your own set to figure out the best gun loadout for your playstyle. For example, if you want lower recoil, don’t use a Suppressor muzzle; use ASR instead. Suppressors will take your aim and fire through the roof while ADS; so steer clear of it if you aren’t good with recoil control. Do you like ADS more than hip-firing? The above loadout is a bit hip-fire centric. So, if you are looking to use ADS a lot more, we suggest using the Control Grip instead of Combat. The overbarrel attachments are useless in terms of recoil, but does have their own set of benefits. For example, the laser point helps you see your target point in lowly lit conditions. In extreme cases of dark rooms, you could consider using the flashlight instead of the lasers.
Primary Weapons also include SMGs and Shotguns. We suggest studying gun stats to choose the best one for yourself. For example, a UMP-45 can be very useful for close-range combat, but it’s regarded as one of the slowest SMGs. Shotguns are one-shot killers, but requires accuracy on the yielder’s side. But, assault rifles are the deadliest of the lot. Choosing the primary weapons also depends on the role you take up in your squad. This rule also applies to Long Tactical items. When it comes to secondary guns, you can choose your kind of hand gun; just make sure to slap an suitable attachment.
Last but not the least, you will need to choose what kind of grenades and tactical devices you want in your loadout. We haven’t provided suggestions for these two categories as it really depends on your calling. Ready or Not lets you embrace a non-violent approach towards targets and tactical devices will only help you with such a process. For example, you could keep some pepper sprays to stop targets from running away. We also suggest keep grenades as this boosts tactical plans.
