The Sims 4 is the fourth installment in one of the best-selling video game series of all time, The Sims, published by Electronic Arts (EA). It is a social simulation game that allows the players to create virtual people called ‘Sims’, and do various things with them, like direct their moods and satisfy their desires. It is common for people to use various DLCs and mods in-game to enhance the base-game experience. One such mod is the Sims 4 Height Slider mod.
The Sims 4 height slider mod allows the players to do something that is not possible in the base game: change the heights of their sims. It provides a simple slider in-game that players can use to change the height of their sims. However, players often reported problems trying to download and install mods in Sims 4, so read this article till the end to find out how to do it yourself!
Sims 4 Height Slider Mod: How to get & install it?
There are various height slider mods out there, so it can be daunting at first to try and figure out which one to go for. We have got you covered, though, and listed some of them below.
Luumia’s Height Sliders –
Luumia’s Height Sliders mod is a popular choice; however, u/dashingjumper did say that the height slider broke after the game received an update, but the height presets still work. If that is good enough for you, then this mod is worth trying out.
Height Slider by GODJUL1 –
The height slider mod made by GODJUL1 is based on the first-ever height slider mod for the game (which unfortunately is now deprecated).
Height Slider Collection by redheadsims –
This is a collection of slider mods for differently aged sims, with the control being based on the back leg except for toddlers, for which the control is on the head. You can download the collection by clicking here.
How to install these mods?
Once you have downloaded the mod files, copy them, locate the mods folder in the Sims 4 folder in your system, and paste the mod files in there. After this, launch the game and follow the given steps:
- Open Game Options and select the Other option.
- Next, make sure these two options are checkmarked: Enable Custom Contents and Mods & Script Mods Allowed.
- After this, apply the changes and restart Sims 4.
Now, head over to the Create a Sim (CAS) section and access the mod’s features related to height adjustments.
Visual Glitches –
Since these are all mods and not official DLCs, you may encounter some glitches in the game after they are applied. Common glitches include animations being weird (such as hugging) since the animations are coded assuming standard sim height. Other more bizarre glitches may include missing limbs or clipping through objects. However, it is important to keep in mind that these are just visual glitches and in no way affect gameplay other than being jarring to look at.
There are a couple of temporary fixes to these glitches, such as changing the sims’ clothes, but really, what are mods without their strange bugs?
