How to get and find Fiber in Starfield

While playing Starfield, most of the time you will be looting resources left and right. But that doesn’t mean everything can be looted. For example, if you want a powerful version of your already legendary weapon, you will need weapon mods. Just like that, other valuable things can be crafted. Some require easy-to-find resources that you may come across while looting. Meanwhile, some rare ones need some additional effort. In this guide, you will learn how to get one of the easy-to-find materials, called fiber, in Starfield.

Fiber is what it sounds like: a piece of material that drops from plants. Both in real life and in Starfield, you will rely on nature to do your bidding to get this item. But you will be running round and round if you have no clear vision of what you are looking for. That’s why this guide focuses on how to get and find Fiber in the game.

Starfield Fiber: How to get & find

How to get and find Fiber in Starfield

Fiber is one of the easiest resources to come by. Unlike some rare resources, it can be found on almost all planets that have flora and fauna. However, some systems have these resources in abundance, so you should consider visiting them to get the most fiber in the least amount of time. As always, there are more ways than one to get this resource, and you will learn about every method.

Explore

This is the planetary system that every Starfield player knows by now. The popular Jemison planet is the one you have probably visited countless times. This is also where the New Atlantis is located. But you won’t be heading there. Instead, pan around the planet for a landing spot. Just make sure that the designated landing area has a forest or mountains.

Some places will show you the ocean, some deserts, and some mountains. Keep panning and choose the right landing spot. If you find an area with greens, just land there. Once you land in the forest region, fire up your scanner with the LB button on the Xbox controller or the L key if you are on a PC. This will scan your surroundings and highlight what you want. Look for plants like Glossy Stickweed, Dunetangle, and Boreas Roots. Once you locate them, go near them and interact with them using the A button on your Xbox controller or the E button on your keyboard. This will harvest the plant fiber, and you can see the popup on the lower left side of your screen.

Buy them

The other, and probably easiest, way to get them is through direct purchase. Just know that it’ll cost credits, so if you are low on them, then the first option is a good one for you. As for stores, you can head to Cydonia on Mars and look for vendors. Follow these directions if it turns out to be difficult to find one:

  • When you see the Broken Spear Bar, simply walk past it.
  • Now, go to Lower Level 1, find the Enhance and Medical Stores, and keep walking.
  • From the left-hand side, you will see there are many shops lined up. Go to the last shop, which will be the UC Exchange shop.
  • Interact with the vendor and just buy the resource that you need—in this case, fiber—in exchange for credits.

Well, that’s it for this guide. Just know that each piece of fiber costs four credits. So it’s not a very expensive resource. We hope you find this guide informative. If you did, make sure to follow Android Gram for more.
