Being an open-world survival sandbox game, The Front doesn’t follow the usual post-apocalyptic storyline that most games of the genre share. In the game, you play as a resistance fighter who is sent back in time to stop the rise of an empire. You won’t have much when you start out. You have to fend for yourself and look for resources like polymers and metal to upgrade weapons and survive for the longest amount of time. However, finding the in-game resources isn’t as easy as you may have thought. So, if you are wondering how to get and find Polymer in The Front, consider reading this guide until the end.
The Front Game: How to get, find, & craft Polymer
Polymer is not something you can find scattered in the in-game world of The Front. It is a resource that has to be crafted. However, you will need a few things set up before you are ready to craft polymer and make weapons out of it. Crafting polymer is a two-step process. You first need to set up a device called a Pyrolyzer and then use resources in the machine to craft polymer for self-use. While this all seems hard, it really is not. All the details are shared below.
How to make the Pyrolyzer?
This is a complex part of the entire process. Once you have points to invest in the Tech Tree, head to the Basics tab and find the Pyrolyzer device. Now, unlock the crafting recipe for this device. Once you have learned how to make it, you will need the resources to craft it. For this, you need 8x Machine Parts and 10x Copper ingots. This is a rather large machine, so make sure you have enough space inside your base to place it. Once it has been crafted, it is time to find the ingredients to craft polymer.
Note: You will need the crafting table to craft the Pyrolyzer.
How to craft Polymer?
Once you have the Pyrolyzer all set up and ready, you will need Resin and Crude Oil to craft Polymer. The easiest way to get resin is to chop down trees. If you do this, you will get wood and might also get resin. Later in the game, you can use a grinding table to convert the wood into resin. This is much faster. Crude oil, on the other hand, can be harvested using the Manual Miner. This is a tool that you can unlock from the Structure tab of the Tech tree. But make sure to select the crude oil option while using the Manual Miner. This will sort your crude oil needs, albeit slowly. Crafting 1x Polymer requires 2x Crude Oil, and 2x Resin. Once you interact with the pyrolyzer, you can drag these items over to its inventory and craft polymer.
