Imagine receiving a link to a Twitter post from your friends, but the lick somehow doesn’t work. It could be about something you are interested in or just a funny meme. Whatever it may be, it’s interesting if it has been sent from a close friend. The problem gets a bit more specific when the Twitter link fails to open on just the Chrome browser. This is not a problem that is widespread or affects many users. So it is safe to say that the problem is temporary and can be fixed with some basic troubleshooting. So let’s take a look at the possible fixes for when the Twitter links are not working on Chrome.
Fixes for Twitter links not working on Chrome:
1) Internet issues:
Your internet connection is the first thing you should check when faced with such problems. Assuming you already have Chrome opened, open YouTube and play a video at HD quality. If the video buffers more often than usual, your internet connection may be facing a negative fluctuation. If the video does not play at all, you can be sure that there is something wrong with your internet. Just call your ISP and find out why this is happening. Once the internet connection is fixed, you should be able to access Twitter links on Chrome.
2) Switch to incognito:
Switch Chrome to incognito mode. This is the easiest way to bypass the restrictions that may be added due to privacy settings or browser extensions. Users sometimes unknowingly download extensions that interfere with certain websites. So this is how you can bypass them quickly. Click on the three dots at the top right corner of the Chrome window. Then, select “Incognito mode”. This will open an incognito window. Paste the Twitter link in that Chrome window and check if it’s working.
3) Clear cache files and cookies:
A clutter created by the cache and other junk files on Chrome can also be the reason why the Twitter links are not working. To clear the cache files on Chrome, click on the three dots at the top right corner again. Select Settings from the drop-down. And then click on Privacy and Security from the left panel. You will see the option to “Clear Browsing data”. Select it and make sure to also delete the cookies as well. After that, restart Chrome and see if Twitter links work.
4) Update Chrome:
Update your Chrome browser (if available). Open the browser menu by clicking the three dots again. Now go to settings and select “About Chrome” from the panel at the left. The new window that opens should tell you if your browser is up to date. If the browser is not up to date, install the latest update. After the update, try opening the links again.
5) Use a different browser:
If Chrome still does not work, try using a different browser. The Twitter links should work on any other browser considering that the problem is limited to Chrome. Continue using a different browser for Twitter until the problem with Chrome is fixed.
