Two Point Museum is the latest management sim from Two Point Studios that lets you build and run your wacky museums filled with everything from dinosaur skeletons to cursed artifacts. Well, not only artifacts; it seems that some players are also cursed as they are unable to launch the game. Instead of diving into creative curation, they’re stuck staring at a frozen screen or dealing with unexpected crashes. If you’re one of them, don’t worry; we have got you covered. In this guide, we have shared all the details regarding how to fix the game not launching issue in Two Point Museum.

Many players trying to launch Two Point Museum are facing this issue where the game briefly displays a pop-up with the TPM logo and a Unity version (6000.0.17f1_95e1b8cf7a6b), starts loading, and then instantly crashes with no error message. This prevents the game from even reaching the main menu, leaving players frustrated and considering refunds. That said, here’s everything you need to know about fixing this issue for good.

A potential cause for this issue has not been found yet, but the developers have been actively responding to player reports, which means there’s hope for a fix. In the meantime, we do have some suggested workarounds that might help get Two Point Museum running on your system. While not guaranteed fixes, these methods have worked for some players, so they’re worth a try before considering a refund.

Restarts

One of the first things you should try is completely restarting Steam. To do this, open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc), find Steam.exe under the Processes tab, and click End Task. Then, wait about 20 seconds before reopening Steam and trying to launch Two Point Museum again. If that doesn’t work, restarting your entire PC, Steam Deck, or laptop may help clear any lingering system processes causing conflicts.

Clear Steam Cache

Another potential fix is clearing your Steam download cache. Over time, Steam’s cache can accumulate outdated or corrupted data, which might interfere with launching new games. To clear it, open Steam, go to Settings, then Downloads, and click Clear Download Cache. Steam will log you out, so you’ll need to sign back in. Launch the game again and see if it launches.

Verify Game files

You should also try verifying the integrity of game files, as a missing or corrupted file could be preventing Two Point Museum from launching. To do this, go to your Steam Library, right-click on Two Point Museum, select Properties, then navigate to Installed Files and click Verify Integrity of Game Files. Steam will scan and replace any damaged or missing files, which might fix the issue.

–dx11 Launch Command

If the previous workarounds didn’t work, another fix that has worked for many players is forcing the game to run on DirectX 11 instead. To do this, go to your Steam Library, right-click on Two Point Museum, select Properties, and in the Launch Options box in the General tab, type in “-dx11”. This forces the game to use DirectX 11 instead of DirectX 12, which seems to resolve the crash for many.

Reinstall

If nothing else works, a full uninstall and reinstall of Two Point Museum might be the best option. Sometimes, installation issues or corrupted files can prevent the game from launching properly, and a fresh install can resolve these problems. To do this, go to your Steam Library, right-click the game, select Manage > Uninstall, and then restart your PC before reinstalling it.

For now, these are all the workarounds that you can try out to get the game to launch. We hope this was helpful. For more daily guides and news like this, keep visiting Android Gram daily. You can also click here to find out where the saved files for the game are located on your PC.
