Valorant is known for its engaging gameplay and constant developer support. The best part about the Valorant community is the two-way communication between developers and players that results in fast hotfixes and other features that everyone likes. However, sometimes there can be situations where the developers send an update for Valorant but the players aren’t able to download the update as the downloading gets stuck at 0.1 kb. This can be frustrating especially if you have a fast internet-connection plan. Therefore, we will be learning how to deal with this problem through some very easy methods.

Valorant downloading update stuck at 0.1 kb: How to fix it
1) Restart the Game/Client:
The first thing that you need to do is restart the update client. By doing this, the update will get a fresh start and you will be able to start the process from scratch.
2) Check your network connection:
The second thing you need to make sure is of that the network connection you are using is stable as well as fast. If you want to check your network speed, go to a speed-testing website and ensure that the downloading speed of your network connection is appropriate and fast enough to download the update.
3) Use Google DNS:
You can also use Google DNS to resolve the update issue with Valorant as sometimes, the default DNS settings pose a problem. To do this, go to Control Panel> Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center > Change adapter settings. Now, select your primary connection and go to Properties. Here, go to the Networking tab, and access either of the two options- Internet Protocol Version 4 or Internet Protocol Version 6. Now, select the Advanced tab, and then select DNS. Now, change the following-
- For IPv4: Primary- 8.8.8.8, Secondary- 8.8.4.4
- For IPv6: Primary- 2001:4860:4860::8888, Secondary- 2001:4860:4860::8844
After applying the changes, restart your PC and then try updating the game.
4) Close the background applications:
You also need to close any background application that might be consuming the internet while the update is being downloaded. For this, you need to go to the Task Manager and manually check which process is consuming the most network. After that, you need to click on that process and select the End Task option.
Special Note:
Make sure that you close Discord and Twitch as many players were reportedly able to solve the updating issue after closing these two apps.
5) Disable the Windows Defender/anti-virus:
You can also disable the firewall of your system by disabling the Windows Defender or anti-virus that might be blocking the internet access of Valorant.
These are all the options that might be useful while dealing with the error where the Valorant downloading update gets stuck at 0.1 kb.
