How to fix WoW friends list not working:
1) Maximize the list:
This fix is suggested by the Battle.net support team. You need to go into the Battle.net desktop application and click on the friends list that is located in the upper right corner of the screen. Make sure that you view the Favorites and Friends list in the expanded form.
2) Reset password:
You can also try resetting your account password. This will help in uploading your account cache properly. Once you have reset your password, check if the friends list error is fixed.

3) Delete Battle.net:
You might want to uninstall the application from your device and delete all the residual files left behind. An easy way to check for and delete residual files is to launch the Run command. Type in %appdata% in the Run dialog box and press enter. Look for any Battle.net files left behind and delete them. Once you are sure that all the files have been deleted from the system, restart your device. Reinstall the Battle.net desktop app and log in with your account. Check if the friends list has returned to normal in the game.
4) Try to log in multiple times:
According to some players, trying to relog a couple of times solved the friends’ list problem for them in World of Warcraft. So, you should give it a try as well. Relog a few times and check if this resolves your issue.
5) Change region:
Log out of your desktop app and change your region to a different one. Login while being in that region. Now log out again and change your region back to the original one. This time when you login, you should be able to see your friends list. This is another method put forth by a player.
If none of the above-mentioned methods worked, you should try to contact Blizzard.net support for further assistance.
