Exploration is one of the major incentives to play Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (ToTK), and shrines are a subset of exploration. Shrines in Zelda ToTK are puzzle dungeons that reward you with additional chests and the Light of Blessing. These are crucial to collect as they improve Link’s number of hearts and stamina. In this article, we will guide you on how to find and complete the Gemimik Shrine in Zelda: ToTK.
Shrines in ToTK are just as important as they were in Zelda: Breath of the Wild (BoTW). Besides the limited number of Skyview Towers, Shrines serve as a fast travel location that eases exploration. There are over 100 shrines in ToTK. In this article, we will focus on the Gemimik Shrine, which gives you the Mighty Zonaite Shield along with the Light of Blessing.
Zelda Tears of the Kingdom (ToTK) Gemimik Shrine Guide: How to Complete it
Where to Find the Gemimik Shrine
Reaching the Gemimik Shrine can be a hassle. But don’t worry, as we’ve got you covered. Starting from Central Hyrule at the Lookout Landing (-0254, 0102, 0018), head northeast. If you look carefully at your map, you need to travel the road along the path between Death Mountain and the Lanayru Great Spring through the Akkala Highlands. You should arrive at the East Akkala Plains Chasm (4030, 2181, -0096). From this chasm, head east until you come across a stretch of land shaped like a spiral curve. This is the Rist Peninsula. Follow the spiral pathway of the peninsula, and at the center of the spiral, the Gemimik Shrine is located. Here are the coordinates to the shrine: (4513, 2116, 0016).
How to Solve the Gemimik Shrine Puzzle
You need to solve the Turbine Power puzzle to collect the hidden treasure chest and the Light of Blessing. So let’s get started. Right when you enter the shrine, you should notice an unpowered turbine motor at the center of the room. From the left of the turbine is a yellow wire, and to the extreme left corner of the room is a power source (yellow-colored). In the far left corner, there is a large metal plate lying on the ground. To the right of the turbine motor, you will notice a flight of stairs and a detached fan.
If you put the pieces together, you should conclude that you have to complete the circuit. First, attach the fan to the turbine motor (upward) using your Ultrahand ability. To close the open circuit, pick up the large metal plate using Ultrahand and place it between the power source and the yellow wire from the turbine. Since metal is a good conductor of electricity, the circuit is now closed, and the turbine is operational. A gust of wind emanates from the turbine.
Climb the stairs and hop onto the turbine while opening your paraglider. The gust of wind should launch you upward. When you’ve reached the maximum height, paraglide to the platform containing a chest in the far right corner of the room. Upon opening the chest, you should acquire the Mighty Zonaite Shield.
Hop back onto the gust of wind and paraglide to the left corner of the room onto the platform with the flame emitters. There will be three emitters on this platform, of which you need to take the one that’s operating to the ground with you.
Now comes the tricky part. Surrounding the turbine are eight torches. You need to light them all up within a very short amount of time. The easiest way to pull this off is to attach the flame emitter to the top of the fan using your Ultrahand ability. After all the torches are lit, the door to the final room of the shrine will open up. Now, interact with the shrine to get the Light of Blessing.
