Why Should You Search for Dondons?
The primary reason to search for a Dondon, besides its aesthetic view, is that it is a powerhouse of infinite rare gems including diamonds, the most valuable stone in Zelda: ToTK. Dondons feed on Luminous stones and excrete these rare gems. So essentially, you are trading Luminous stone for Diamonds (you can get Diamonds if you are lucky). Now that you know why you should seek Dondons, let’s see where to find them.
Where to Find Dondons?
You can find a small herd of Dondons in the Faron region of Hyrule. Head to the Joju-U-U Shrine (1515, -3577, 0156), which is located near the Lakeside Stable (1552, -3538, 0106). From the Lakeside Stable, head north until you come across Lake Floria. Cross the lake, and you should reach the Bronas Forest. In the forest, you will come across an NPC named Cima who is researching these creatures. There should be a desk and a fireplace in the vicinity. Right next to the fireplace, you should notice an enormous creature with glowing horns. Congratulations! That is a Dondon. Here are the exact coordinates to the Dondon: (1543, -3355, 0058).
After talking to Cima, feed the Dondons a bunch of luminous stones, and they will eventually provide you with rare gems, including diamonds. If you are low on luminous stones, you can head to the Sky Islands in the North Necluda Archipelago. Here, you can mine them since they are available in abundance.
