Most of the players play Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom for a chill game session while roaming across the vast land of Hyrule, looking for rare pieces of weapons and armor to acquire. What is happiness for a Zelda fan? It’s finding a newly acquired set of armor that pays a nostalgic tribute to the previous titles in the franchise. Link’s Awakening Set is one such armor set that players are desperate to acquire. In this article, we will show you how to acquire the Hero of the Awakening Set in Zelda: ToTK.
The Awakening Set in Zelda: ToTK is one of the most incongruous-looking sets in the entire game. It is the only tunic set that was not available in Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The Awakening Set offers no additional set bonuses or special passives besides a base defense of 3 for each item. Although the outfit looks totally out of place, it has been added to the game as a fan service. The Awakening set represents Link’s outfit and art style in Zelda: Link’s Awakening. So, how do you get this set in ToTK? Well, it’s not that hard.
Zelda Tears of the Kingdom (ToTK) Hero of the Awakening Set: How to get and find
To acquire all three pieces of the Hero of the Awakening set in Zelda ToTK, you need to deal with three side quests. More on that in the upcoming sections.
Start the Misko’s Treasure of Awakening 1 side quest
First, you need to reach the Goronbi River Cave, located in the Eldin region. Here are the coordinates for the Skyview Tower (1642, 1191, 0219). The Goronbi River is located at the coordinates (1423, 2103, 0285) on the other side of the Great Hyrule Forest. Enter the cave and make your way to the end of the cave. You can bypass the lava by using the Sage of Wind’s ability to blow a horizontal gust of wind in the direction that you want to go. Another alternative to crossing big gaps of water is to use hydrants to create platforms on the lava itself. Feel free to read this article to learn how to acquire hydrants in Zelda: ToTK.
Anyway, when you reach the end of the cave (1342, 2218, 0283), you should notice a hole in the wall above a partially buried stone pillar. Head inside, and there should be an altar with a treasure chest containing the Ember Shirt. Walk a few steps to the left of the altar, and a hidden door will open, housing a stone tablet. Interact with the tablet to start Misko’s Treasure of Awakening 1, a 3-part series of side quests.
Tunic of Awakening
After starting the quest, you need to head to the Ancient Columns region in the Tabantha Frontier, west of Central Hyrule. The Ancient Columns are located at the center of the triangle formed between Rayne Highlands, Piper Ridge, and Tanagar Canyon. Point the map cursor at the Ancient Columns and switch to the Sky region. The map cursor should highlight the Ganos Shrine (-3370, 0467, 1709). If you don’t have the shrine unlocked, you can always use your paraglider and Zonai-powered airplanes to glide to the coordinates of the Ganos Shrine.
Next, jump directly down from the shrine to land on the last pillar on the southwestern part of the ridge. There is a sneaky button on top of this pillar that you need to press. Here are the coordinates of the pillar containing the button: (-3483, 0421, 0298). If you don’t want to take the pain of fast traveling and then jumping, you can brute force your way to the pillar by either fighting the Flame Gleeok head-on or evading it and climbing on top of the mentioned pillar. If you wish to learn how to fight a Gleeok, feel free to read this guide.
After you hit the button, a secret door will open, leading to an underground, hidden cave. This is called the Ancient Columns Cave. Follow the cave passage, and you should end up in a large room consisting of a decorated altar with a treasure chest. Open the chest to obtain the Tunic of Awakening. As a bonus, the Misko’s Treasure of Awakening 1 side quest is now complete. But don’t leave the area yet. There will be another stone tablet in front of the altar. Interact with it, and you will commence Misko’s Treasure of Awakening 2 side quest.
Trousers of Awakening
If you couldn’t figure out Misko’s second riddle, we’ve got you. The riddle is talking about the Coliseum Ruins. The Coliseum Ruins is located just southwest of Lookout Landing in Central Hyrule. The coordinates to the ruins are: (-1150-1263, 0047). Needless to say, you have to enter the Coliseum. Alternatively, you can jump right into the center of the Coliseum from the sky. But be wary; there is a Thunder Gleeok inside. We advise you to defeat the Gleeok to make your life ten times easier, although killing it is not mandatory to get the Trousers of Awakening. If you’re jumping from the Sky region, you should be able to get a free plunging attack on the Gleeok.
After the Gleeok is down, look for a slope leading to the first floor of the Coliseum. Instead of heading up, stay underneath the slope and look for two soldier statues (as mentioned in the second stone tablet). One of the soldiers is holding the soldier’s claymore, while the other one is not. Coincidentally, there should be a soldier’s claymore towards the right of the soldier on the right (the one that has no weapon). Can you guess what you have to do? You’re right! Use Link’s Ultrahand ability to pick up and place the soldier’s claymore in the hands of the second soldier. Another hidden underground cave will open. Welcome to the Coliseum Ruins Cave (-1167, -1311, 0023).
Just as before, head on down the cave passage, and you should arrive in a large room with an altar housing a treasure chest and four stone soldiers holding different weapons. Open the chest and get yourself the Trousers of Awakening. This completes Misko’s Treasure of Awakening 2 side quest. Once again, interact with the stone tablet right next to the entrance of the altar to start Misko’s Treasure of Awakening 3 side quest.
Mask of Awakening
For the final piece of the Awakening Set, you don’t have to travel a long distance. From Lookout Landing, head west towards Hyrule Ridge, and you should arrive at Ludfo’s Bog. From this region, sprint towards the Thundra Plateau, which is a circular plateau consisting of six mushroom-shaped trees. Here are the coordinates for the plateau (-2272, 0866, 0111).
This part of the quest is a bit tricky, especially if you’re doing it without a guide. So, once you reach the area, chop down all the mushroom trees into logs. Use Ultrahand to attach the logs end-to-end to create a single, long log of wood. When you’re done, start a fire and wait until noon. Next, climb on top of the southern column, use Ultrahand to pick up the single log, and rotate it perpendicular to the ground. Make sure you don’t stop Ultrahand and try to balance the log on the column, as it will not work 90% of the time. Instead, keep holding it upright unless the shadow of the log touches the column across. If done correctly, another similar hidden cave will open.
Now, you know the drill. Head inside the room with the altar and the treasure chest. Open the chest and claim the Mask of Awakening. Claiming the mask will complete Misko’s Treasure of Awakening 3 side quest.
And you’re finally done! One of the coolest-looking outfits in Zelda: ToTK is now yours. If you enjoyed reading this guide, consider following Android Gram for such content in the future.
