If you like sandbox games that are also survival shooters, you will love 7 Days to Die. This hybrid horror FPS game takes you through a fun and multiplayer journey between hell and back and your only goal is to survive. Since it is a little older, it is remarkably compliant with hardware and can also run various mods. However, there are some issues here and there with the console commands and the creative menu not working but those are small issues when you consider how easy it is to fix them. Anyway, if you are encountering the same, consider reading this guide until the end.
The creative menu is an additional feature that this game has. It separates itself from a lot of other survival shooters because it not only gives you admin options with console commands but also allows select players (on a server) or you (when alone) to enable cheats and just pound the zombies into oblivion. How to get to this mode is a little challenging, however, since most sandbox and self-hosted server games give you too many options to choose from.
7 Days to Die creative menu not working: How to fix it?
Creative Menu or Creative Mod is what is fondly referred to as GodMode. You are immune to damage, have infinite resources, or have no resource requirements, and can build and alter the game at will. It makes you invincible and able to perform all kinds of miracles. Sometimes it even lets you ‘noclip’ and essentially fly around the map at breakneck speeds. This is something you have to enable in the settings before you can go into it, however.
How to enable it?
You must do this before you log in to the world. Essentially, check the world settings and find/enable the option for Creative Menu (Cheat Mode). Without this, you will have difficulty getting into this mode because it requires you to use console commands. If enabled, you can easily launch into this mode from the inventory menu itself. Here’s the path to find the option:
- New game > Character Select > Local Game > Local Game Options > Modded Options > Cheats
or
- New game > Character Select > Private Game > Private Game Options > Modded Options > Cheats
If you have not enabled this mode, you need to launch the console command options (typically f1 or f2 key) and input the command cm. This too will launch you into creative mode and you can ignore the limits the game would otherwise put on you. Once you enable this little option before you start the game, you will be able to use the creative menu as you please. In case you cannot, we recommend the console command method. If you have admin access to the server you are on, you will be able to use it by inputting the cm command as explained above. This is only in case you forgot to enable the option in settings or are unable to launch it from the inventory.
What can you do here?
Once in the Creative Menu, you can spawn items that you otherwise could not, like melee weapons or other fun modifiers. You can also edit the serveradmin.xml file to add other spawn options but you risk breaking your game with this.
Anyway, that is how you can use the Creative Menu in 7 Days to Die. If you found this guide helpful and would like to read more, make sure to visit Android Gram daily.
