How to fix Roblox High ping & FPS issue on Windows 11?
Follow these steps to troubleshoot the issue on the Roblox app:
1) Check the official server status of Roblox:
It is possible that the popular online video game platform’s servers are down, and hence the high ping and FPS issue. You can check the live status of Roblox’s servers on the DownDetector website. You can also gain other valuable insights like most reported problems of an area, resolved issues, or the number of reports in the past 24 hrs. If the servers of Roblox are actually down, you will have to wait until the developers fix the internal hiccups.
2) Check your ping:
To check your ping accurately, visit a speed test website like the Speedtest.net. Check and see whether your ping is less than 100 ms. If not, the issue most likely lies with your internet connection. So, you will have to troubleshoot your network connection.
3) Troubleshoot your internet connection:
Make sure you aren’t using a VPN service that is possibly affecting your internet ping. Use a wired connection instead of wireless to ensure a better connection without packet loss. If using a wireless internet connection, restart your router.
4) Close unimportant background processes:
Open Task Manager (search for it from the start menu search bar). Navigate to the Performance tab and click on Open Resource Monitor. Under the Network Tab, click on Processes with network activity, and you will see a list of processes using your network at that moment. End the processes signifying unnecessary apps like the browser, Steam, or others that might be slowing your connection.
5) Command Prompt troubleshooting tips:
Open Command Prompt (search for it from the start menu search bar). Type ping google.com and check whether the ping is higher than 100 ms. If yes, type ipconfig /flushdns. This will clean the DNS resolver cache, which might be bottlenecking your connection.
6) Change your DNS server addresses:
Open Control Panel (search for it from the start menu search bar). Make sure to View by: Category, and click on Network and Internet. Next, click on Network and Sharing Center, and select your connection. Navigate to Properties and then double-click the Internet Protocol Version 4. Select Use the following DNS server addresses option. Input 8.8.8.8 as your Preferred DNS server and 8.8.4.4 as your Alternate DNS server. Apply and save all changes. Then, try playing Roblox games.
7) Update your Network Adapter Driver:
Open Device Manager (search for it from the start menu search bar). Find your network adapter from the list, right-click on it, and select Update Driver. Select Search automatically for drivers when prompted.
