Facing annoying mouse input lags while playing Battlefield 2042? Some reports say that the issue is restricted to mouse only. Other reports suggest problems with both the mouse and keyboard input. So, the bug is affecting all forms of input – different in different cases. For a competitive shooter game like Battlefield 2042, fast response and high frame rates are absolute necessities. And, issues like input lags can severely hamper a shooter video game’s experience. Fans are extremely annoyed and disappointed with the list of bugs Battlefield 2042 has right now. Although the beta phase saw many fans jump into the game right away, it was a disaster in terms of execution. So, fans expected DICE to be careful with the official launch at least. But, that’s not the case, unfortunately.
Not only have some bugs of the beta stage returned, but there are several newly reported bugs too. The mouse input lag was present during the beta stage and has returned to annoy players now. Battlefield 2042 is currently in Early Access and is expected to launch officially on November 19. Its release was much awaited, and fans were very excited to try the game out. But, the bugs are extremely nosy – the game becomes unplayable at times. As mentioned earlier, the mouse input lag bug is impossible to adjust to. So, have the developers acknowledged its presence yet? Is there a fix to it? Keep reading to know.
Battlefield 2042 mouse input lag creating stutters, game unplayable
The game is unplayable because the mouse input lags behind the actual controlling. It feels like a controller but way worse and is therefore unplayable.
Players have declared that Battlefield 2042 is absolutely unplayable due to the input lag bug. And, it is justified. Imagine trying to aim at an enemy who just appeared before you, and your mouse takes two seconds to register the crosshair movement – death guaranteed. You will likely lose costly matches because of the input lag bug. Players have tried several workarounds like basic disconnecting and reconnecting the mouse, using a wired mouse, restarting the game and PC, and many more. But, none of them seemed to work. Fortunately, an EA Moderator acknowledged the bug’s existence and asked a few follow-up questions to note the situation in detail. Also, some players have directly reported the situation to EA Support, and they have promised to forward the issue to the developers.
EA needs to mend this mess as soon as possible, or else Battlefield 2042 will lose its player base. Many affected fans have already refunded their purchase as they didn’t want to pay for an unplayable game.
Come on EA I love the Battlefield franchise and don’t want this issue to keep me from playing this beautiful game!
There are a few unofficial fixes you can try, but they are not working for everyone –
1) Try reducing your mouse’s polling rate.
2) Disable any overlay programs like the GeForce app or Discord.
3) Restart your PC.
We know that the above fixes are insufficient, and EA needs to find a way to fix this. But, right now, all we can do is wait. We will update this article as soon as we see any progress in the situation – Stay tuned to Androidgram!
