Unable to sign in to Forza Horizon 5 with the account of your choice? Well, it seems you aren’t the only one going through this at the moment. Since launch, we have come across several reports regarding sign-in problems with Microsoft Accounts in Forza Horizon 5. Windows 10 can be notorious at times when it comes to account management. We have noted numerous reports regarding Windows force detecting old or imaginary admin accounts after major updates. Considering the fact that Forza Horizon is Xbox and PC exclusive, Microsoft is obviously going to be a major part of the game’s authentication system. Is Forza Horizon 5’s problem solvable though? Fortunately, yes! It is very easily solvable. Let’s dive right into it.
Forza Horizon 5 had its share of launch issues but emerged as one of the best video games of 2021. The latest Forza title won a Game Award for its audio design. Guess what, Forza Horizon 5 also won the category for the best racing/sports game of 2021. Pretty great, huh?

Forza Horizon (FH) 5 Can’t change Microsoft Account Issue: How to fix it?
So, here’s what happened to a FH5 user on Steam:
Bought the game on steam, went to log into my Microsoft account at launch and instead, it automatically logged me into another Microsoft account from years ago and won’t let me log back out. If I click “sign in with different account” it just comes out with my pin and then tries to get me back in on the dud account.
Basically, the authentication system of Forza Horizon 5 had recognized an older Microsoft account of the user as a primary sign-in account. Ideally, we should be able to change the account and log in with a different one if needed. However, the bug is stopping users from changing accounts. So, how can we address this annoying bug? Keep reading to know.
Facing a similar issue as described above? Well, here’s the workaround for it – you will have to remove the unnecessary account from your PC entirely. Follow these steps-
1) Open the Settings app on your Windows PC.
2) Next, select Accounts and scroll down to look for the Microsoft account you would like to delete.
3) Click on the account you want to delete, and select Remove. If prompted further, choose Yes.
Now, the above is a workaround – not an official fix. It will no doubt solve your problem. But, what if someone chooses to have more than one account on their system? If Forza Horizon 5 detects an account automatically, the user should be able to change it according to his/her convenience. However, there’s no official news notifying this bug’s status. We hope the workaround helped you out. For more articles or updates, stay tuned to us!
