Grammarly Overleaf

Overleaf is one of the best writing tools you can use when writing research papers or research reports. The choice of words used in a scientific study is a lot different than what is used on a daily basis during informal conversations. It is easy to make mistakes when creating a document with such intricate details. Thankfully, Overleaf can help its users with the same. It suggests better words and corrects any potential mistakes made by the writer. This helps in creating refined studies that help others with their research.

However, some users might want to be extra careful when creating these studies. And a very well-known writing tool can just be the thing they need. Grammarly is a very famous writing tool that ticks all of the boxes when it comes to providing its service as a writing tool. But can users run both Grammarly and Overleaf at the same time?

Grammarly Overleaf

There isn’t an official way for users who trust both these services to use them simultaneously. But some people have been able to crack some workarounds that may help in using Grammarly on Overleaf. If you are interested in finding out what those methods are, continue reading the article. We will try our best to jot down all the steps necessary to make Grammarly work on Overleaf.

How to make Grammarly work.on Overleaf:

The best way to use Grammarly in association with Overleaf is the Overleaf Textarea. This is a plugin that can be installed on your browser. Go to the browser you use and search for the Overleaf Textarea plugin. Or you could go to the browser Menu > Tools > Extensions and search for the Overleaf Textarea extension there. Install the extension. Now, go to Overleaf and continue editing your document. Since Overleaf is an online tool, you will have to use it on your browser. While you are doing so, on the top right corner of your browser, click on the Overleaf Textarea extension icon and select “Activate”.

Once the extension is active, you will see a difference in the editing panel. This is when the suggestions from Grammarly will start showing up on Overleaf. Moreover, the changes that you “accept” from Grammarly will be made to the source file. This is the only method you will need to use Grammarly on Overleaf.
