Are you someone who is fond of Pokemon from older generations? Well, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are excellent games, but do you wish they had more Pokemon in their roster? If you do, fret not. Many trainers in the Pokemon community share the same desire. To please fans, the developers of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet released the Teal Mask DLC, which brings back many of the older generation Pokemon to the base games. It allows trainers to go out and look for old-time favorites like Gilgar and Lombre.
If you are one of the players who enjoyed their time in previous Pokemon games that featured old-gen Pokemon, you will love the new DLC update for PSV. This DLC brings back not only Gilgar but many popular Pokemon like Cramorant, Phantump, Aipom, and many more. There are some version exclusives, however, so you will have to consider your version before going on the hunt to find and catch them all. If you want to find and catch Gilgar, keep reading this article, and we will tell you exactly how to get it in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Teal Mask DLC.
Pokemon Scarlet & Violet (SV) Gligar: How to Get, Find, Catch, & Evolve (Teal Mask DLC)
Gilgar is a Ground and Flying-type Pokemon from Generation 2 that made its way to the ninth-gen Pokemon games. In PSV, they are commonly found in and around the more arid areas on the map. They are a common wild spawn, so you won’t have to go looking for them for too long. Gligar also has an evolution in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, the same as in the older generation games.
How to find it?
So, since this is a Ground/Flying type, you are better off looking in the more arid and desert-like regions of the map. Here are some good places to look:
- Paradise Barrens
- North West Kitakami
- Middle-East Kitakami
Exploring these regions should let you encounter a Gilgar pretty easily, and you can go on catching one. We recommend taking a water-type Pokemon along since they deal the best damage against Gilgar because of their type. Catching it otherwise is the same as catching any other Pokemon in the game: you reduce its HP to a minimum value, throw a pokeball, and hope for the best.
There is a small catch, however. Gligar and its evolved form are version-exclusive Pokemon. That means you can only get this if you have the Pokemon Scarlet version and, of course, the Teal Mask DLC. You can only trade for this Pokemon if you have Pokemon Violet, but since that version also has exclusives, you can ensure a fair trade with a Pokemon exclusive to your version of the game.
How to evolve it?
Evolving Gilgar into Gliscor takes a Razor Fang. This is an item you can find in a cave in the left zone of the Infernal Plains, or you can complete 110 entries in the Kitakami Pokedex to get this item as well. Once you have this item, give it to your Gilgar to hold on to. Once it reaches Level 30, it can evolve into a Gliscor during the night.
That is all it takes to get, find, catch, and evolve a Gilgar into a Gliscor in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Teal Mask DLC. If you found this article helpful and would like to read more, make sure to visit Android Gram daily.
