Splitgate’s beta phase started in July, and since then, a lot of things have happened. Especially the incapability of Splitgate’s servers to handle more than 65000 players at a time. The game was supposed to release on July 27 officially. However, the game servers crashed on such a huge traffic influx, forcing the developers to postpone the official release date to the end of August 2021. It is said that the influx happened mainly due to the introduction of cross-play support with the official release of the game. Nevertheless, Splitgate had a pretty successful beta phase till now if we ignore a few things.
Splitgate (Beta) is now available for consoles and PC for free. However, PS5 users have been facing troubles with the graphics feel in the game. Read the article to know more about the issue.
Splitgate PS5 version: Issues
So, some players have raised complaints in a Reddit thread about the look of the game’s graphics. The game looks very blurry and seems like the screen is covered with a second film. Here’s what a user, hartfoundation97 had to say.
I have a PS5 and am using a 4K monitor and the graphics look blurry to me (relative to other games). Does this game use lower resolution or something? The game itself is a lot of fun, and I’m not a graphics snob but it’s just something that’s very noticeable to me.
Replies to the same post heavily support it. Here’s what xDOOSO, a Splitgate player, had to say.
Same. Hoping the full (ps4) release will sharpen up the image a bit for us on PS5. Really hoping for a next Gen Upgrade on this one. Not very noticeable in game, but that main lobby makes me feel like my contacts fell out.
Here’s something users can try, suggested by skintask.
Try disabling 120hz in PS5 display settings. Had a similar problem in warzone and this fixed it.
Another quick suggestion from a Spiltgate player, brandalthevandal.
Yep its blurry. I have resorted to putting my tv’s resolution at 1080p and upping sharpness. Hopefully the ps5 version will release at official launch? So that this game is better looking.
We have come across many threads and posts complaining about Splitgate not optimizing the game enough for next-generation devices. Since PS5 is made to handle better graphics, the game should have been created, keeping in mind the higher power of PS5. From the issues, we can tell that the game needs a good number of graphical enhancements to provide clear and lively graphics on PS5. We hope the developers have taken the reports seriously.
Splitgate is still in the beta phase and is expected to release at the end of August. We can expect a lot of enhancements until then & possibly a release of an enhanced version of the game for PS5.
