Try disabling Proxy Settings
Here’s how you can disable Proxy Settings on Windows:
1) Firstly, press Windows Key + R to open the Run Window.
2) Secondly, type inetcpl.cpl in the text bar and press Enter.
3) Now, select the Connections tab.
4) If available, select Never dial a connection.
5) Now, select LAN settings and Uncheck “Use a proxy server for your LAN”
6) If this setting is already unchecked, try to toggle Automatically detect settings. Next, click OK.
Please check to see if your internet connection is stable
To check whether your internet connection remains stable when you launch Age of Empires 4, do the following –
1) Firstly, run Task Manager (CTRL+ALT+DEL keys).
2) Next, go to the Performance tab

Turn off VPNs
