If you are unable to use the install button or get an error, try these troubleshooting steps to try and address the problem:
1) Check to see if the Install button works despite the visual error.
Sometimes, the install button may appear to be disabled. But, if you click on it, it may work the way it is supposed to. So, try clicking on the install button two or three times to check whether the issue persists.
2) Check for pending Windows updates.
Make sure that there are no pending Windows updates. Pending Windows updates may cause interference in the installation process or cause the install button to malfunction. Microsoft releases essential patches for Windows that require immediate downloading. It may seem like you are on an up-to-date version of the OS, but make sure there aren’t any extra patches waiting for your attention. Also, please restart your device after installing any updates. Now, try launching Age of Empires 4.

3) Reset the Microsoft Store App.
Use the command wsreset to reset the Microsoft Store – delete the app’s cache. wsreset will not delete your installed apps or account settings. First, open the Command Prompt window (search for cmd in the Start menu. In the Command Prompt, type wsreset and then restart your machine. Once you relaunch the game after restarting, you may get a pop-up. Click the Yes option. The game will close automatically. If not, manually close it. Now, launch the game again, and this time, you should be able to play Age of Empires 4 in the desired language.
If you are on Windows 11, perform the above steps in the same way till you close the game manually. When you do so, the Xbox App will open. You can then launch the game.
4) Run the Microsoft Store App troubleshooter.
Run the automatic troubleshooter to detect and fix problems within Microsoft Store and Xbox App. First, select the Start button, and then select Settings. Navigate to Update & Security > Troubleshoot, and then from the list select Windows Store apps > Run the troubleshooter.
5) Use the System File Checker to repair Microsoft Store.

6) Restart your machine multiple times.
