Unfortunately, they are not the easiest fish to tame. Since the mechanics of the water aren’t the same as those of the land in ASA, taming it is not as simple as taming an argentavis or a direwolf. You will need to keep a few things in mind before you go ahead and start the process to tame them. You are going to want to consider their use since they are limited to underwater exploration, which can be an issue if you like staying on land a lot.

Taming a Meg is not the easiest thing to do. While they are knockout tames, knocking them out is a challenge. In addition to this, you have to plan and prepare for an extended time underwater, which is a challenge in and of itself. In addition to this, you need to prepare food to tame them with, so you essentially have to precook the kibble or find the meat to tame them with before you hunt for them. That being said, there are essentially 2 methods to tame them:
1). Underwater taming
To do this, you will need a scuba tank, and preferably, a tame that you can use underwater. We recommend the Baryonyx. This will allow you to not only stun the megalodon but also shoot from the back of the Baryonyx, keeping you safe as you tame this creature. When you find it, shoot a bunch of tranq arrows at it until its torpor level rises and it is knocked out.
Once knocked out, reach out and place food in its inventory. The preferred food for taming is Exceptional Kibble or Raw Meat/Mutton. Once tamed, you can ride it with a saddle, but you cannot take it out of the water.
2). Shooting from land
To do this, you will need to be lucky enough to find one close to a coast or a rocky island. To do this, get on the island and use a tranq-based weapon like a crossbow or a longneck to keep tranqing it till it is knocked out. You can also craft a platform on the water body so that you can shoot arrows at it while standing on land. Once knocked out, you need to place food in its inventory (Exceptional Kibble/Raw Meat/Mutton). While this is significantly easier, it is a luck-based method that might not work every time. If you cannot find one near the coast, underwater taming is your best option.
Tips for taming?
You will need a crossbow for this tame (if underwater) since you cannot use a longneck underwater. This means you want a good quality one to knock it out before you kill it. Also, keep in mind that they are very aggressive and are usually in packs. You might have to deal with the pack that comes after you even if you knock it out. This is something that you will need to consider before you begin taming this creature.
