With the recent v1.0 release of Dread Delusion, the game’s player base has seen a steady rise. Released on May 14, 2024, Dread Delusion’s early access journey has been filled with many ups and downs; however, it seems the full release is somewhat disastrous for the official team. Contrary to what one would expect from the game in terms of performance, the full release has been quite a letdown. As reported by many, after the v1.0 update, Dread Delusion’s performance on PCs as well as handheld systems like Steam Deck has deteriorated significantly. From playing the game at a steady 60 FPS during its early access period to encountering frequent FPS drops after the full release, the experience of players is affected by this issue. Fortunately, the developers are aware of this problem.
Dread Delusion is a game that offers players a post-apocalyptic, dark fantasy world filled with eerie creatures. You, as the protagonist, have to fight them. Featuring first-person perspective gameplay, Dread Delusion’s overall setting is fast-paced and requires quick reactions to defeat enemies. Due to this, in-game FPS plays a major role as without good FPS, you won’t be able to enjoy the game to its fullest. So, the performance issues in the game’s full version are a huge deal. Anyway, continue reading what the developers had to say about the same.

Dread Delusion Laggy issue addressed by developers, fix awaited
After the v1.0 release of Dread Delusion, many players took to Reddit and the game’s Steam discussion forum to share their experiences with in-game FPS drops. The majority of the reports were related to the game being unplayable due to low FPS even on a high-end PC. In response to the reports shared by players, here’s what developer Henry Hoare said:
We’ve gotten a few of these reports today and are actively investigating.
It seems to be a CPU issue but if you all could share your full PC specs that would be very helpful!
Well, the developer has acknowledged the underlying problem in the game and stated that they are currently investigating it. They also said that this issue seems to be related to the system’s CPU, so there’s that. Right now, not much is known about what is causing the problem, but it is clear that an official fix will be released soon.
Official fix release?
As of now, there is no ETA or official announcement regarding when the laggy issue in Dread Delusion will be fixed. Since the developer only said they are currently investigating it, we think it will take a few more days or maybe a week or so for them to release an update. But do note that this is just speculation from our side, so take it with a pinch of salt. We will update this article as more information about the same is released.
