Fixes for GasBuddy app not working:
Check for server outages:
One of the biggest reasons for the failure of a service, can be a server outage. And with the GasBuddy app, this has proved to be true in the past. So before going forward with any type of troubleshooting, the first thing you should check is if the GasBuddy servers are healthy. Because if they are currently down, troubleshooting at your end will not fix the problem. Visit the official GasBuddy Twitter account. If there is a problem with the servers, GasBuddy will notify its users from the Twitter account. In case there is an outage, wait for it to be fixed and then try using the app again.
Check permissions:
As mentioned above, the GasBuddy app needs access to the GPS features on your device. If you have recently updated your device software, or changed to a new device, or made a significant change to your regular setup, there is a small chance that the permission to use GPS was taken away from the GasBuddy app. Go to your device settings and search “Permissions” in the search bar at the top of the screen. Select the GasBuddy app and check if it has access to all the required features. After that try using the GasBuddy app yet again.
Clear cache:
Cache files are a huge problem and can clog the system if you do not get rid of them. If you are an Android device user, long press the GasBuddy app icon and select “app info”. Now select “Storage” and tap on “Clear cache”. To do the same in an iOS device, go to Settings > General > Storage > GasBuddy app > offload app. Now open the app to check if it works.
Check connectivity:
If the app still doesn’t work, you should check if your internet is working fine. The simplest way to check your internet speed is by opening other apps on the device. There is no way all the apps on your device start malfunctioning at the same time, unless there is a system error bothering them. So if you observe latency in loading speeds and app performance, contact your ISP. Let them know about the problem and ask them to check if there is something wrong with your connection. If they confirm that your connection is compromised, ask them for assistance in fixing it. But if there are no issues with your internet connection, try the next step.
Restart the device:
Restart the device on which you are using the GasBuddy app. It is a straightforward step with little to no explanation needed. Perform a quick restart on your device and then check if the GasBuddy app works.
Reinstall app:
If restarting the device did not help, the best thing you can do to fix an app on your device is reinstalling it. Uninstall the GasBuddy app from your device and restart it. After restarting your device, open the store on your device and install the app again. Log in and check if it works. Everything considered, this step should be enough to fix any issue with the app. However, if the app is still not fixed, try contacting GasBuddy’s support team. They will guide you through the issue.
