How to install CustTermux 4.3 & run Jio TV on any Smart or Android TV?
Installing CustTermux 4.3 on your Android TV is not a complicated task, in fact, a pretty simple one. Now, before you install it, you should know what it is. Well, it is basically a fork of the Android terminal emulator, Termux to run the JioTV Go application, by Github user rabilrbl. The JioTV Go application is a web wrapper of the Jio TV application that, besides providing the same features of the official Jio TV app, works on any smart or Android TV too. Installation
- First, start by accessing your smartphone and heading over to the official Github page of CustTermux. You can click here for the same.
- On the page, you will find the Assets section, under which there will be a bunch of files available for download. Select the fourth file from the top, named CustTermux_4.3_universal.apk. Tapping on it will initiate the download. You can click here to download the file directly.
- Once downloaded, you will have to transfer the downloaded .apk file from your phone to your smart TV. You can do this via two ways. One is by copy-pasting the file to a USB drive and then connecting the USB drive to your TV for it access the .apk. The second way is by using a file-sharing app like “Send files to TV” by Yablio. Install the application on both your smartphone and TV and connect them to the same Wi-Fi to share the file.
- Once the file is transferred to your TV, now it’s time to install it. So, head over to your TV’s File Manager, and find the .apk file. Now, install it. During the process, you will most likely get a prompt via Google Protect that will let you know that you are installing an application that doesn’t include the latest privacy protection. Simply click on More Options and then select the Install Anyway option.
Setting up for the first time
- After the application is installed, now you will have to set it up. So, open the application first, and click on Next.
- In the Step One screen, select the Other device in the network (Default Mode) option.
- After selecting the same, select Next.
- On the Step Two screen, select Yes and then Next.
- On the Step Three screen, select Yes again, and then Finish.
- This will initiate the setup process of the CustTermux JioTV Go application on your TV.
- On the next screen, you will receive a prompt for Permission Required. Select Ok, and then wait for the CustTermux JioTV Go application to appear on the list of apps installed on your TV. Now, select it and then toggle it On.
- Once done, you will have to wait until the application is being set up. Check out the Status and Login sections. If the Status option is displaying “Error”, then the application won’t work. So, wait until it says Running.
- After this, you will have to log in to JioTV using your Jio number. Enter your Jio number and then the OTP received on your phone. Next, select the Verify OTP option. Doing so should result in the Login option changing from Error to Logged in.
- If both the Status and Login options are displaying text in green, that means the setup is successful and you are all set to access the content via Jio TV. Simply select the WebTV option on the top right and you will be taken to the channel menu. Select any channel of your choice and enjoy. Also, before you do so, don’t forget to set the Quality to High.
