The devices of LG have been able to gain a huge sum of popularity among customers. The unique features and attractive designs have easily gained the attention of people and as a result of this, now, LG is considered as one of the best brand in the market of electronics. But among all the electronic items, the TV sets of LG is considered as very unique and different and mainly because their design and features are completely different from the other models that have been trending in today’s market.
One unique feature that has been introduced in LG TV is AirPlay. Now let me tell you that AirPlay is a service that allows you to send music and video from Apple devices to your TV and speakers. The feature of Screen Mirroring can also be used to share the display of your device in a large screen. The service of AirPlay provides direct communication between an iOS device and AirPlay speaker which includes volume control. When you are using AirPlay, you can control the volume of the AirPlay speaker and also of the iOS device.
But a lot of users have complained about severe issues they have been facing with the service of AirPlay. A major issue that has been reported is that many users have not been able to connect their iOS device to the LG TV. Even those TV sets that have the latest version of the AirPlay has not been able to connect to any iOS device and customers have expressed their frustration in response to this. Well, till now, there is no confirmation from the team of LG and other sources regarding the possible cause of this issue. Also, if you are searching for a permanent solution to fix this problem, there is nothing for now. But still if the problem is irritating you a lot, then you can do this –
1. Make sure that your phone and LG TV are connected to the same Wi-Fi.
(a) Tap on ‘Settings’.
(b) You will get to see a menu.
(c) Scroll down and select ‘Wireless’. It will take you to the connection window.
(d) Select the option ‘Wi-Fi Connection’ and it will let you know which Wi-Fi you are connected to. If it is not connected, choose the Wi-Fi option you would like to connect and if it is password protected, it will ask you for a password.
2. Check if the AirPlay is turned on.
(a) Click the Home button on your TV remote. You will see a menu.
(b) Scroll it till you find the Home Dashboard.
(c) You will find the option of ‘AirPlay’ and you need to select that option.
(d) After selecting AirPlay, you will see the AirPlay screen which displays the Wi-Fi name and the TV name and AirPlay and HomeKit Settings. Select the AirPlay and HomeKit Settings.
(e) There will be the option of AirPlay. Turn it on.
(f) If you want to unpair someone, you can select the option of Reset Paired Devices.
(g) Now try to connect it with your phone. Select the option of ‘Screen Mirroring’ on your phone and there you will see the option of TV.
(h) An AirPlay passcode will appear on your TV screen and you need to enter the same code on your device. Having done this, your device will get connected to your TV.
If these two steps don’t work for you, you can try disabling Quickstart. This method has worked for a few users. Follow the steps below.
- Go to settings > All settings
- Select General. Then select Quick Start+
- Turn off Quick Start+.
- After this, power off the TV.
- Unplug the TV and let it be for 2 minutes.
- Plug in back and switch on the TV.
- Try connecting to AirPlay again. It should work fine now.
