The majestic world of Palia is filled with countless creatures and fish to catch and hunt. From the common fish to rare bugs, each creature holds a different value based on the category it belongs to. There are quite a few categories in the game, including Common, Uncommon, Rare, and Epic. Now, it is quite obvious that Epic rarity creatures will be the hardest to come across while the common category ones are readily available. That said, the Stormray is one such fish that belongs to the Rare category. This means that catching this fish is neither too easy nor too hard. You just need a keen eye and the right timing to get hold of one. For more details regarding the same, consider reading this guide till the end, as we have shared everything you need to know about catching one.
As mentioned already, the Stormray is a rare fish in Palia. It has a turquoise-colored body and resembles a stingray in terms of structure. Since this is a rare fish, you won’t be able to find it randomly without actively looking for it. Considering that the world of Palia is quite huge and there are multiple regions to cover, it is always better to take the help of guides as they do the heavy lifting and share all the essential details so that you can have a relaxing experience. In this guide, we have done the same.

To catch the Stormray in Palia, first, you will need a few prerequisites. The primary thing is bait. You will need glow worms to attract this rare fish in the game. If you use anything else, then give up on the thought of catching one. Once you have access to a bunch of glowworm bait, it’s time to get a good rod. A fine rod is what we recommend. Although you can use any rod to catch this fish, using a fine rod will increase your chances of a successful catch.
With both bait and rod equipped, now you are all set to catch a stormray. To begin fishing, you will have to visit the Bahari Bay region, that too during the morning (3:00 AM- 6:00 AM) and evening (6:00 PM- 9:00 PM), as this is the only region where the Stormray spawns. Coming to the location of its spawn, it is mainly in the following areas:
- Thorny Thicket
- Flooded Fortress
- Proudhorn Pass
- Ancient Aquaduct (Small lake north of it)
The highest possibility of the Stormray’s spawn lies in the Flooded Fortress region. So, make sure to visit that area first during the specified time. With enough tries, you should be able to get hold of a Stormray soon enough. Just remember to be patient, as this is a rare fish. Anyway, coming to its uses, you can sell a Stormray for a total of 420 gold (Base version) while its quality version sells for 630 gold. Apart from this, you can gift it to certain NPCs or catch it just to complete the Cloudcurrent Bundle.
