You can do so through in-game trading. Once you complete the Regional Pokedex, you will unlock the National Mode – there will be over 493 Pokemons available for you to collect. Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl: How to trade Pokemon & battle with friends online?
Note that you will need a Nintendo Online Subscription to trade online in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. If you don’t have Nintendo Online, you can only trade locally. Also, you can avail the trading options in the game only after you defeat the gym leader, Roark. There are two kinds of rooms you can join to trade in the game – global and local rooms.

Trade Pokemons via Local Room in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl
Here’s how you can trade Pokemons through a Local Room –
1) Navigate to the Pokemon Centre.
2) Go upstairs from the left. Talk to the woman at the middle counter.
3) There are three options –
Yes, if you want to trade with random people online.
Or, Yes, with a Link Code, if you want to join a group with specific friends.
Or, Yes, with my group, if you want to join with the group you’ve previously created.
4) Save your game.
5) If you are joining a group of specific friends, enter the link code.
6) In the Union Room, press the Y button and select Call. Now, select Trade out of the options.
7) You can choose to Interact with a player or wait for another player to interact with you.
8) Now, in the trading screen, select the Pokemon you want to trade and then select Trade it.
9) You will now be shown the Pokemon the other person wants to trade. If you agree to the trade, click on Trade it again. Or, if you want to cancel it, click on Cancel.
Trade Pokemons via Global Room in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl
1) Navigate to the Pokemon Centre.

2) If you want to battle globally, go downstairs from the right. Talk to the woman at the middle counter.
If you want to battle locally, go upstairs from the left. Talk to the woman at the middle counter.
