Pokemon Go is the most popular Pokemon game available for players to play on mobile devices. Likewise, the game has a huge player base that actively participates in various in-game events. Players often use GPS spoofers to travel seamlessly across the map featured in Pokemon Go. Well, these spoofing applications trick the game into thinking that the player is actually roaming outside but in reality, this can be done using a simple button that can control a player’s movement in the game. But, recently, there have been reports that the game is failing to detect the location of the players regardless of whether they are playing the game normally or using spoofers. If you are encountering the same error, we have featured this guide which will help you get rid of this error for good.

Pokemon Go not detecting location: Fixes & Workarounds

There are two primary reasons which cause this error to occur. One is that the user is near/under buildings which hinders the GPS system of the device. Another reason is that the player might have the mock location setting enabled. So, to fix this error, there are a few workarounds that you can try.

1) Enable Location Service on your device

If Location Service is disabled on your device, then the game won’t receive data from its GPS to pinpoint your location, resulting in the error. So, to avoid this situation, head to the Settings option and select Location. Now, select the Mode option and make sure to set it to High Accuracy. Now, try launching Pokemon Go and check if the error persists.

2) Disable Mock Location in Developer Options

Head to your Settings menu and scroll down to find Developer Options. Once you have access to all the Developer Options, simply find and disable the Allow mock locations option. After disabling, simply launch Pokemon Go and the game not detecting location error should be fixed for good. However, if this doesn’t fix the issue, consider reinstalling the game and restarting your device.

So, this was everything you need to about fixing the Pokemon Go not detecting location issue. For more such guides and information on newly released titles, make sure to stay tuned with us on AndroidGram.
