How to add friends in Pokemon Unite?
Well, adding friends on Pokemon Unite will need you to possess one important piece of information. You should note down the Player ID of a player you want to add as a friend. Player ID is also known as the Trainer ID. You may ask a player for his Trainer ID. Once you have it, you can type it in the in-game ID search tool. Confirm whether it’s the same player you are looking for by Trainer Name.
If you are wondering whether it is possible to look for a player using his Trainer Name, you cannot do that at this moment, unfortunately. To look for a player, you will need his Trainer ID mandatorily.
In- game steps for Adding a Friend
Before adding friends, let’s understand some lobby and main screen options available on the game.
Pressing L on the main screen will load up your trainer profile and there you can see your Trainer ID in numeric words or alphanumeric words above your name.
How to add friends
1) Now on the main screen of the game, press X, a menu will appear on the left side. In that menu look for friends option and click on it.
2) Once you will click on it, you will see two tabs – Friends & Friend Search
3) If you have any friends requests, you can accept them under the Friends tab by clicking on the + button on the right side, while the – button will block out any request which you don’t want to accept. You can check all your friends from the friends tab.
4) Now, if you have a Trainer ID of your friend, you can use the Friend search option to send them requests. Pressing – button on the Friend Search page will show up your Nintendo Switch friends. You can add them by clicking on their name, it will show an option to add as friend.
Pokemon Unite will allow you to add up to 500 trainer IDs.
How to invite friends in Pokemon Unite?
Congratulations on adding a bunch of new trainer friends! Are you excited to build a great 5-man team for your Unite battles? Of course, you are. But for that, you will have to invite friends to your lobby.
How to invite friends to make them join your lobby
Click on Unite Battle from the main screen it will open up the Lobby, where you will see your lobby ID at the top left area.
Your character will show up on the centre and you will see two + icons on both of your character sides. You need to click on the + button to invite friends to your lobby. You can also press Y, it will show up your online friends, from there you can invite them to your lobby.
Once your request is sent out, your friend will have to accept the request to be able to join your lobby. You can then start a match with them.
If your lobby isn’t full, the empty slot will be occupied by a random while matchmaking. This ensures quick matchmaking all over the world. Make sure you switch on voice chat to be able to communicate well, and who knows, you might end up making another new friend!
How to join someone lobby
If you want to join a lobby, you need to have a lobby ID sent to you by your friend or the person whose lobby you wish to join. Once you know the Lobby ID, head to the main screen. You will find a Lobby Search button on the right side of the screen over the Unite Battle Button. You need to click on that and search for the Lobby by entering the Lobby ID. This way you can join a lobby.
