Changing Battle Items before a battle is quite an easy task. Follow the given steps:
1) Since Pokemon Unite lets you select the Pokemon of your choice before starting a battle, this is where you will have the chance to change your equipped Battle Item as well.
2) To do so, tap on the Battle Prep option present on the Pokemon Select screen.
3) After this, tap on the Edit option right next to the Battle Items option on the screen.
4) Select the Battle Item of your choice for the battle and confirm. You will now load into the match with the newly equipped Battle Item of your choice.
