Ranch Simulator game not saving: Fixes & Workarounds
If you are looking for the save location of Ranch Simulator, you will find it at the following address: AppData\Local\Ranch_Simulator\Saved\SaveGames. You can directly land in the location by typing %appdata%/../local/Ranch_Simulator/Saved/SaveGames in the Run dialog box and clicking OK. If you are facing trouble with saving the game, try the following fixes/workarounds:
1) Windows Defender may be blocking the game.
If you use Windows Defender on your Windows PC, you will need to allow Ranch Simulator to access controlled folders. Only then can the game save data in the aforementioned location. To do so, follow these steps:-
– Open Start Menu and type Virus & threat protection in the search bar. Open it.
– Now, select Manage settings.
– Select Manage Controlled folder access under Controlled folder access.
– Finally, switch the Controlled folder access setting to On or Off.

2) Try running the game as Admin.
Still not working? Using a third-party antivirus program instead of Windows Defender? As a next step, try running Steam as an Admin. Firstly, close Steam completely. Now, right-click on Steam’s icon in the start menu or desktop. Select Run as administrator, then launch Ranch Simulator normally.
If running Steam as Admin isn’t fixing the save issue in Ranch Simulator, try running the game directly as Admin.
For this, locate the installation directory for the game first. To locate the installation directory, right-click on Ranch Simulator in Steam, select Properties > Local files tab > Browse. Next, right-click on the game’s main executable file and choose to Run as administrator.
